Until then no dice!

I don't pay for the Network and still watch the Takeovers.

I guess pro wrestling isn't for people like me anymore. I couldn't care less about watching Takeovers just to see "great matches".

To me, "great matches" are the result of great characters, feuds, and storylines. What actually happens in the ring is not all that important in comparison. And in a vacuum it is almost meaningless.

The current indy "workrate" inspired Meltzer rating method of determining pro wrestling quality is completely foreign to me.

I agree with this. You need compelling storyline and storytelling during the matches, WWE's big match style is more or less just spot to spot stuff that focuses on big moves without a story and even NXT to an extent suffers from this (note, the best feuds in NXT often are the story driven ones like Gargano vs Ciampa rather than the pure athletic contests).

Obviously it should be technically sound (rather than two poor workers being in the ring) but more importantly than even that, the story must be there or else its pointless.

As previously mentioned, if their tv is like their early ppvs, I’ll be out pretty quickly. Ring of Honor with a budget doesn’t do it for me.

Any word on a network in Canada picking up the show?

I'd like to see them emulate the NJPW template instead of current western promotions which have more resources and history. The big difference between WWE/ROH/Impact and NJPW is that NJPW treats it like a big time sport, and writes stories around their performers like ESPN writes stories around athletes in pro sports. Whereas there are tons and tons of North American companies just do a lesser version of WWE, which itself is already currently is a lesser version of whatever they used to do

SN has WWE

TSN said no thanks

I would guess The Fight Network picks AEW up eventually.

Yeah, the Canada thing is interesting. As wo1verine said, both sports networks are out. Does that mean we could get AEW on a non-sports channel? What the hell would that even be, lol.

If TSN said no then thats garbage stupid **** station that has 5 channels is more interested in showing
crap like Curling and the CFL.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna have the time or go out of my way to stream or find torrents of AEW to be honest unless
its really good out of the gate and I have a feeling they're gonna have some growing pains until they beef up the roster.

I guess it's possible that TSN doesn't want to be "in the wrestling business" if that means showing a product that is clearly less viewed than what their competitor is showing. Or, perhaps, AEW's number was too high. Who knows.

AEW on CTV?

If the ratings for WWE wrestling in Canada whenever it was carried were as low as I think they are, then there's a very good reason not to be keen on wrestling in general.

Where can you find WWE ratings in Canada?

As for CTV I believe their owned by Bell Media just like TSN

I could see a fringe specialty channel picking up AEW in Canada.

The OLN Network for example, or Much Music. Both channels seem to air whatever they want at this point.

I feel like AEW could add some size to it's roster wonder if they'll sign Big Cass? He's not fat anymore and looks to be in great shape right now.

With October 2 still weeks away, WWE and AEW are engaged in a highly tactical game of billionaire-backed one-upmanship that would otherwise suggest the two sides have been feuding for years.

One minute, AEW is selling out television shows near WWE's backyard, and the next, WWE is counter-programming them.

One minute, Cody is smashing a throne as an obvious shot at Triple H, and the next, Vince McMahon is undermining their advertising efforts by publicly calling AEW "blood and guts."

If the war is this petty this early there's no telling just how ugly it can get, but AEW's latest (possible) needling of WWE might be its most complex.

Like a secret cheat code in a video game, AEW appears to have purchased domain names pertaining to the soon-to-be clichèd term "Wednesday Night War(s)."

During a recent Q&A on B/R Live’s Instagram account, Cody Rhodes commented on AEW airing in Canada, and more. You can check out some highlights below:

On AEW airing in Canada: “You’ll probably get that update in the next two weeks I’d say. Of course, we’re not gonna leave our brothers and sisters of the North without their AEW. I mean, we have Kenny Omega, we have Chris Jericho. AEW will definitely be on in Canada.”

It will probably end up on some obscure cable channel that nobody gets.

Big loss, but Pac as as good of a replacement as you can get.
