[
I’m with you. I love Iggy as a player and player type. Two way stud. All around winning basketball player. I really think he is a good comp for Gordon this year at the same age, though AG’s shooting has a chance to be much better. Get on board with me on this, AG is our Iggy this year.[/quote]
There was period of time when Iggy was by favorite nba player
I don't "hate" Gordon, i just don't view him as star/superstar/ whatever type player some people think he can or will be.
I would be more than happy if he turns out to be all around great player Iggy was in his prime. Has to improve decision making and playing with a ball a lot tho, Iggy was pretty damn great passer. He even had 6,3 apg season, that's more than half of modern PGs.

I hated iggy when we played the 6ers in the 09 playoffs. Jacking up and making all those bull threes lol

I had zero hope of orlando making it to the finals during that series. Luckily we finished strong but had Hedo not made that step back 3 we could have very well lost in the first round.

It looks like the team select will have a lot of long defenders with Mitchell Robinson and Isaac. They'll be coached by Jeff Van Gundy and Steve Clifford. Wonder if they have a shot against the national team?

I think the only reason AG guarded some SF's over Isaac is because of strength.
I could be wrong here, but I remember Hammond saying the opposite.
When asked about Aminu, Hammond said he envisioned him backing up Gordon at the 3 and Isaac at the 4.
Now I do think Gordon’s natural position is PF, but Isaac and Aminu are also natural power forwards as well.
Somebody’s is going to have to play most of their minutes at the 3 this year and I think it’s going to be AG. He feels like the best choice of those three guys.

I never heard that and when you view his minutes by position, 60% of them were at the PF position.

I don’t think it matters what you call either position. But still don’t think their fit will ever be ideal on the offensive end together. Not that they aren’t useful. Maybe after a couple more off seasons the key will be having Isaac at center next to Gordon and a more perimeter oriented small forward.

This is accurate. Gordon played 40% of his minutes at SF and 60% of his minutes at PF.
Isaac played almost 100% of his minutes at PF.
But the Magic signed Aminu who has played 95%, 96% and 99% of his minutes at PF over the last three seasons respectively. It's not realistic to expect Aminu at age 29 to go back to SF outside of limited opportunities.
So it stands to reason Isaac/Aminu will man the PF slot which means Gordon will have to play most of his minutes at small forward.

One of your wings simply has to be able to play with ball without coach, fans and GM holding their breath every time your wing take a dribble.
I can't even recall last time that some team won championship without really, really, really good wing player.
Now, will you like to call that position SF, PF, wing, player or teletubbies it's irrelevant.

Plenty of videos from team USA practice today. I didn't see any of team select with Isaac and Clifford.

Yep.
It doesn’t matter what we want to label these players. Out of the 4 guys that are “forwards” you need to have one of them that can be a playmaker and facilitator without hesitation. It also helps if they all aren’t providing the same exact pros and cons to their games and emphasis on development.
The last aspect of this comes down to outside scoring. In today’s nba you cannot have 3-4/5 guys on the floor incapable of providing reliable floor spacing from outside. Entirely unacceptable. What’s crazy is I feel like this has been echoed for the last 3 or 4 seasons and hasn’t been addressed in the slightest.

Interesting. I never really looked at JI’s positional stats. I just assumed he was getting the bulk of the difference from AG.

Because they were willing to sign him.
There are two narratives for me.
1) I believe Carter is "desperate" to be the first NBA player to play in 4 different decades. Incredible in that is that, by today's NBA standards, he started his NBA career "late" at 22 years old.
2) I believe the Hawks is trying to make a playoff push and want the vet-leadership to get there. (I expect something like his Sac-stat line 5/1/3 in ~50 games played). His role is as a bench-coach type.
..

Did anybody noticed how on instagram and facebook almost all payed commercials are Lebron related? Guy's self promotes living crap out of himself since he is in LA ( and NBA finally got what was their wet dream, 2 best teams both in LA ).
Makes me sick.

That's true ,but so damn annoying , i litearlly today saw:
harlem shake - miami heat
Lebron's old video package of dunks
Lebron highschool mix
In addition, there was some AD hype videos and Lakers promo video.
i literally unliked every single basketball related thing from facebook, yet that MFer still pops up . I'm scared to go to bathroom, i might find his footage in toilet
