Brazil have a good mix of experience (Barbosa, Varejão, Huertas, Alex, Marquinhos) and youth (Marcus Louzada, Yago dos Santos, Caboclo). We usually choke on these events and Raul Neto is gonna be missed, but I would not be surprised if we ended up reaching the top 8.

Don't worry, I wont. Would love to see USA - Serbia finals actually. Pretty sad that Teodosic, Kalinic, Milosavljevic will not play, cause I think that strongest Serbian team got nice chance vs this USA team. Even without them I think we got a chance. Of course there are Greece, France, Spain, Australia, Luthhuania... but Serbia is biggest threat to USA def.

Here are the odds:

I think the US will medal, but I do not like the match up versus Serbia. The size disparity is going to be problematic for the USA.

I thought Alex got knocked out of the tournament with an injury?

He's injured but still with the team. The timetable for his comeback is 5-7 days, so he'll probably be available for the first game

Kalinic not gonna playing is Serbia’s own fault. Even in 2019 they’re insecure about an open minded player who questions the same tired old nationalistic rhetoric. Complete farce and failure he’s not on the team.

France vs Serbia tomorrow will be a good test for France !
So far we have a pretty good chemistry, with good role players (Ntilikina, Poirier, Toupane) and key players (De Colo, Fournier, Gobert) with a very good defense/offense balance!

Ntilikina is playing so much better than with NYC, as a def general with Gobert and Batum!
Offensively Fournier, De Colo and Batum are organizing very well the game with good spacing, unselfish plays by the coach !

I see France vs Spain in 1/2 and France vs USA in Final :) :)

I know all that, just, we are little short on his position.

I’ve always been curious why Serbia has been the only former Yugoslav country to never naturalize an American. So many quality imports have come through Belgrade over the years, all of their neighbors have done it. Why not Serbia?

Why would we when we got great players in our own nation, and doing great? People in nation are really against that, and I am too. Really don't see the point of national competitions, if player for other nation plays for your national team? You do that stuff in club sport and I'm fine with that, but leave national sport alone. :)

We did had 1 or 2 USA players in women basketball team tho.

Well you had just mentioned the need for wings, think there are a few guys who could help with that. I don’t think Anthony Randolph or JR Holden kept Slovenia and Russia from enjoying their Eurobasket gold’s any less.

I just thik it's not our nation style, especially our current coach Djordjevic. He didn't called Kalinic for as we know some political statments about Kosovo, there is really no way that he would call some foreign player. Maybe it will change in later future, but we are long way from there.

Serbia could beat the US, no question. The front court matchups are not good for the US.

For me, there will always be an asterisk next to that Slovenian gold, because of Randolph.

I will never respect that Russian gold, because it was Holden who won it. and Russians tried talk FIBA into rullling out only 1 naturalized player restriction, and even their clubs have a claws for players to get russian citezenship and play for russian national team if needed. Thats just pathetic and I dont respect federations like that. I respect teams like Serbia, and also proud my nation, Lithuania is against naturalizing too and that we won our titles without any mercenaries who have nothing to do with our country.

Politically i am not very patriotic at all, but in sports thats my opinion.

Serbia justt beat France without Bogdan and Bjelica who were resting, so as Lucic, starting SF. That would be 10/10 for Serbia in preparation games
