Barnes was a far better player with Dallas than he ever was with the Warriors. He is actually a great example of Carlisle taking a mediocre 11 ppg roleplayer and making him look better than he really is. As for DSJ... has he done anything in NY that makes you think Carlisle didn't already get the most out of him? It's still too soon to claim the Mavs coaching staff failed to unlock his potential. I suspect they already did, but I'll withhold judgement until after the season.
Like I always tell Mavs fans: Don't blame the coach for not turning turd into gold. Blame the GM for bringing him a turd to begin with.
