Not to bring race into this but 2 white euro players arent really going to really attract other stars in this league
How much success did Mavs have in free agency when Dirk was there?
Well, all I can see is that from 2000-14, the Mavs were one of the most successful franchises in the NBA. Yeah, they''ve had some trouble rebuilding the last 4 years years. Not a bad track record. If it's true that black players don't want to play in Dallas, I haven't read or heard about that. I just read that "players" love playing for him, as an owner.
It looks like there are some happy black players in this video.![]()

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1235842-dallas-mavericks-why-mark-cuban-is-the-greatest-owner-in-all-of-sports#slide5Cuban may not be the most popular personality across the country, but one thing is for sure—his players love him.
Dallas is known league-wide as a great place to play, and a huge part of that of that attractiveness is Cuban.
He provides his players with one of the best locker rooms in the NBA, treats his team like family and does whatever it takes to accommodate them.
This was never more evident than in his interaction with troubled guard Delonte West.
When West signed with the team, he was near penniless. To compensate for that, he was forced to sleep in the Mavs' locker room and even his car early on in the season.
But when Mark Cuban got wind of this, he immediately put a stop to it.
“Soon as Mr. Cuban heard about that, he made one phone call and everybody was lining up to rent me an apartment,” West told the Dallas Morning News. “They were calling back saying, ‘Hey, we’ve got the penthouse suite for you.'"
However, perhaps the best indication of the players' loyalty to their owner came in the celebration after the Mavericks won the title.
Cuban was right there along with his team, and his players embraced and reveled in the jubilation with him like a brother.
There is no better statement of admiration and love than that.
Cuban is a lowkey racist but this isnt really a topic I care to discuss. Just had this convo a few weeks ago.
Yeah, I did hear that though I know nothing about how true it is. Prolly for another thread on another day ... on another forum.
