7 games back... 32 games left. Unless Boston chokes and we sweep all 6 games, it won't happen.
Wildcard is not looking good either.

yep, Sea has 3 more games to play more than us....so that means when we are done, we need to be leading them by 2 games in the standings

Sometimes you guys make me sick. How is the wild card over and done with?
Seattle has 34 games left. Of those 34, 4 are @ LAA, 3 are vs LAA, 5 are against the Indians, 3 are @ NYY, 3 are @ DET. That is 18 of the 34 games against playoff contenders. And the other 6 road games at TOR and OAK aren't much easier. They have 6 easy games left all season, 3 vs TB and 3 vs TEX. They just got done with a stretch of Orioles, White Sox, Twins, White Sox, Twins, Rangers while we were going up against Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit, Anaheim, Detroit. That is the only reason the race is still tight.
Of our 31 remaining games, only 9 are against playoff contending teams. That is HALF the amount of games that the Mariners have left against playoff teams. Take out the series we play each other and they have 15 and we have 6. Big, big difference.
We'll know where the wild card is at on September 10th. At that point, Seattle will be finishing up a 10 game road trip against CLE, TOR, NYY, and DET and we will be finishing up a 9 game home stand against BOS, TB, and SEA.

When is the last time the Wild card winner won 92 games?
What does that have to do with anything? Whether or not we win the Wild Card has to do with whether or not we finish ahead of Seattle, not an imaginary win mark.
(The Mariners won it with 91 wins in 2000. Of course, if you want to count the NL, the Dodgers tied with the Padres and were given the wild card with 88 wins last year...)

or that this team just falls in the hole due to terrible pitching

I'm willing to deal with Hughes's struggles... he's a rookie and I kind of expected these struggles. But the rest of our pitchers other than Wang are 6 inning pitchers. Can't win with that.
