The guy never makes it easy, there's always gotta be 1 or 2 guys on any base and 0 or 1 out to finally wake him up. He'll be better served as a 7th inning guy next year with Wolfe and Ryan taking up 8th and 9th inning duties. Wolfe is just a great pitcher IMO. He throws strikes and has closer like stuff...I'd try out League too...if all works out, we could package Accardo and actually get a decent SS/C for him.

That's what I love about Stairs relative to these Blue Jays hitters. His approach is to swing agressively, albeit a bit wildly, so that he can turn even pitches that fall out of the strike zone into hits. I think his bat speed allows him to get away with this approach. Most of the Jays hitters, on the other hand, can't do anything with pitches if they're not in a certain area.
