Apparently his new angle on Luka is that he's not fun to play with.![]()
They also say they still prefer Trae going forward and spends a lot of the time pumping up Trae during the Luka talk.

Btw Dirk, do you have a count how many different players actually guarded him today? Felt like they tried everyone. Each time i looked there was a different guy on him.

They cant say it out loud because it's 2019. But it's more because Trae is American and Luka isn't.

Tucker and Rivers were the assigned defenders. None of them were effective at all. Rivers was completely demoralised, he was crossed over, blown by, posted up and had a 3 poiter in his face as he just shook his head. Tucker got driven straight into his body and Luka still finished at the rim with ease.
Drew 4 fouls. Scored 18 points on them.
After having a poor play against Capella --- Luka attempted a tough 3 pointer for no good reason --- he just drove by him 4 or 5 times for easy points. In one of them he threw a lob to Maxi who also got fouled +1.
Harden was just a pylon about 3 times as he was driven by with no resistance.
Sefolosha, Mclemore and House had brief cameos.Imon wrote:Rashad Phillips talking about Luka Doncic on the Max Van Auken Podcast.

I gave it a try.
I genuinely felt my brain dying. These guys have no clue. They literally were describing the opposite of what he plays like. The dude that hosts has 800 followers, so you kind of get that you're scrapping the bottom of the barrel here...
Negative attention, is still attention and clicks and this guy is so deluded that it's just an incredible waste of time.
Imon, my very best advice: forget the rashard guy ever existed. I am not even going to mock him anymore. Dead. Erased from my mind.

1. He was not drafted in NBA. Bitter as hell. Then he went and play in Europe. He couldn’t get himself into Euroleague. He couldn’t get himself into 2.tier Eurocup. He played in 2.Italian league..Turkey and so on. All that created jealousy and animosity at:
- european players
- PG which are higher than 6.2
I am not saying he is stupid and I am not saying has bed intentions.
There is a third option which I don’t really want to write. And later is the ugliest of them all.

I believe Luka’s agent told Atlanta that there was no way Luka would play in Atlanta. Assuming that was the case, Atlanta made a good move.

No, they didn't. Everyone gives Sacramento crap about passing on Luka. Listen, Luka's agent refused to send his medicals to Sacramento. He refused to work out for them. Which Luka wasn't going to work out for any team because of his commit to his team in the Euroleague, but if he had wanted to play there, he would have gotten his medicals to them & found a way to do a workout.
In fact, the only player who did agree to a workout with Sacramento was Marvin Bagley. I think that's a big reason the Kings talked themselves into drafting Bagley III.
But, at the end of the day, you can't be a wuss. Buckle up. This is the big boys' table. Shuffle up & deal. Get your chips together, shove into the middle and CALL HIS BLUFF!
You don't make a "good" move by letting a generational talent pass you by because he threatens not to sign. Call his bluff. If he does refuse to sign, then you get a compensatory pick the following year, and you're no worse off than you would be by drafting a rotational player or missing on a guy who will be out of the league in 4 years.
I mean, damn. At the end of the day, have some freaking respect for yourself as an organization. Be an Alpha. Not some pussy, Beta. Seriously. You can't bow down to the players like that.
I will say, and I said it at the time on dallas-mavs.com, I think the Mavs' reputation really helped them. Compared to Sacramento, Memphis, Atlanta, Chicago, and even Phoenix, Dallas was the clear #1 choice there for any of the rookies.
Jaren Jackson Jr, up until the night before the draft had refused to share his medicals with Memphis and was playing the same game of chicken with the Grizz. Had he not relented. Dallas might not of been willing to part with the extra draft pick for Luka, if they had JJJ as a backup plan at #5.
It's crazy how the draft is one big game of dominoes.

Not only professionals, people writing in Realgm, who are big supporters now, didn't believe anything similar is possible. Some from this board, didn't even want to draft him if he falls to 5. I had very conservative forecast, considering what happened, for his future and was constantly bashed how unrealistic I'm. Luka was back then just white, unathletic dude, who is good because, he's playing against scrubs.
