I am looking to get two large screen QLED for our new house, and wanted to have them ready prior to moving in in late December. Haven't bought a TV worth anything in ages so I'd be up for some info/advice.
My ex worked for an electronics company for 6 years. She said that the tvs and other electronics they used for the black friday specials are usually cheaply built and use inferior parts, to get the cost low for the specials. I always figured they just had 5 to ten tvs they sold at cost just to get you in the store to make you buy other crap, but I guess that isn't the case. Those TV models usually had some weird sku/model numbers that really couldn't be shopped. I thought it was private labeling to not allow you to price compare, but they are just modified with lower quality parts, and can't legally use the same sku numbers.
It sounds like a pain in the @$$ to do that, but if you are a bigger box store that sells 5 to ten tvs on special per store, times X amount of stores, you are buying a lot of tvs, and you can have a specific model made geared to your specific price point.
I would say do your research on a sku that you want prior to black friday and buy the one you want at the best price you can find.
