Bears can't run the football. Bad thing. Not being able to run the football is an incredibly important bad thing. I blame Nagy overall and the O-line in particular. If they can't run the football any better than they did today, they're doomed.

Their O-line is complete trash. They need to sign a free agent guard to shore up that line.

They also need to revamp the entire TE players on the team right now.

Plenty of work that needs to be done.

You can't run the ball if the other team knows you're running. You stack the box and play 1 on 1 on the outside and make the QB beat you. Teams know that Trubisky can't do that, so the run game is going to continue to struggle.

This is crazy-

NFL Rushing stats

Lamar Jackson • BAL 876 yards
Chicago Bears - Team Total 864 yards

EVERY team passed on him, including BAL who drafted a TE at #25 and finally took Lamar at #32

It's fun to watch these first couple of years - but watching RGIII come in and play the 4th qrt and them showing Michael Vick on the sidelines - it reminded me that running QB's don't last long in the NFL.

That BAL D is nasty and they already beat the Pats once.
Lamar vs Brady AFC title game - sign me up!

Bears and Bulls should swap coaches and front offices.

Purely for entertainment sake since neither franchise is going anywhere.

6-6 with a prayer.

Need to win out:
Dallas
@GB
KC
Min

Need Minnesota to lose 2 and then us to win in week 16:
@Seattle
Det
@LAC
GB
BEARS

Let's go Bears!

I said a few weeks ago they need to turn Trubisky loose and throw vertical. He will throw some picks but it is the only way they will get in the end zone.

3 TDs and 1 INT is exactly the stats you want to see every game.

also need rams to lose 2 of their final 5, which appears very likely:

at arizona

at dallas
at SF

2 of those TDs were short passes, though

also assumes eagles don't win out and somehow still lose division to cowboys...which is off the table if dallas loses today

Rams are about as dead as you can be. Which makes our loss to them that much more frustrating.

Outside of the INT, Mitch was really good today.

Cowboys are certainly very beatable next week. Still feels like and 8-8 season, but we'll see.

8-8 season incoming.

So disappointing after all the expectations.

They have:
Cowboys - Have a good chance in this one (50/50?) due to the Cowboys also sucking
@Packers - Will be heavy underdogs
Chiefs - Will be heavy underdogs
@Vikings - Will be heavy underdogs unless the game doesn't matter for Minnesota and they rest guys

I'd say 7-9 if I had to put money on it.

I think we will win every game with the exception of Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers always finds ways to beat this team.

Hey Doug, don't want to put you on the spot but you're ridiculously optimistic about the Bulls but way more subdued when talking about the Bears. I happen to be the opposite but I'm just interested in hearing out if you agree with that statement and why you have rose colored glasses for the Bulls but a more grim outlook for the Bears.

Cowboys and Vikes should be wins. Bears have owned the Vikes HARD the past two years and Akeem Hicks should be back by then for sure.

I am extremely down on the Bulls now. They're a bottom 3 team in the NBA. I thought they could be a .500 team to start the season, but I also said I thought they had no ceiling past the 2nd round and could just be a bit above average when they peak and their ability to be good was based more on the ridiculously awfulness that was the East. I bought into Lauri/Otto being good and Zach being minorly improved with Sato/Young being solid additions. The trip from awful to average is usually not that hard.

As for the Bears, based on what they've done this year, I don't think anything I said is irrational was probably overly optimistic on the Bulls to start the season, but even then, I never thought they would be a great team, just thought they could be average. In general, all teams head towards average, so I would generally always be more optimistic about an awful team improving and generally be more pessimistic about a great team holding steady or becoming even greater.

Trubisky actually looked like a real NFL quarterback today. Of course, it was against the worst defense in the league. They actually threw the ball downfield successfully. If they did that more often, it would open up a lot in the run game and in the short passing game.

If Trubisky throws 300+ yds and 2+ TDs against the Cowboys, I will believe him and the team again. Otherwise, it's an ok performance against a garbage team.
