He’s been very solid in Brads system and I fail to see an obvious upgrade who’s obtainable for Boston.

Theis should be a backup bigman, at either the PF or Center spot. Should not be traded

Boston would have to include something else of course (picks? Bostons and Bucks? GWilliams?)

Demar to orlando - gives them scoring they sorely lack

Gordon, Kanter, Bamba (picks)to Spurs - Gives them some youth to build with, lets them stay competetive for now and speeds up rebuild

Poeltl and Keldon Johnson to Celtics
Defense and youth.

Or just kanter and grant and picks for keldon and poeltl

Yahoo reporting that the Cavs are looking to move Love.... And Boston is interested. No idea how that would possibly work without trading Gordon

Tatum slipped while arguing a call again. He has to stop with the arms up nonsense.

Portland makes sense if they can off load Bazemore. But idk how the Lakers would make it happen unless they are okay with moving Green. Cleveland wouldn't want to take him on though. IMO, it's going to be hard for them go find any serious offers.

Hayward and bazemore to cleveland

Kanter, knight, love and delladova to portland

Whiteside and trent jr to boston.

Cleveland gets a very good player on a much lesser contract.

Portland scores a ton, doesnt defend but what else is new.
Lillard/mccollum/anthony/love/kanter-nurkic

Boston adds a very goos defensive center propelling them into the best league defense. Add a young bench sg duke alumni in trent jr.

Kemba/wannamaker
Smart/trent jr
Brown/semi
Tatum/gwilliams
Whiteside/theis

Maybe? Ive been drinking....

he might be worse than kanter on defense. He comes in the game, the other teams shooters get hot. Sure, he can weak side block a shot at the rim if he cares that game. but is terrible at team defense, worse than Kyrie. That trade proposal is so bad, my soul hurts, and I might have lost 5 months of my life expectancy from just reading it.

I really really like this team & Hayward isn’t even back yet. Let’s not trade anyone.

Not quite sure about trading for Love...
From simulations I've done on the trade machine, the only way to trade for him is to let Hayward go. However do the Cavs want Hayward? Not quite sure about that ; he is still overpaid and no one can predict if he will continue to play as he did before his hand-injury.

Then, do the Celtics want to get Love despite his awful contract ? ($120M/4yrs) Considering they will surelly have to give up some draft picks and maybe a guy like Theis? From this point of view, no.

However, maybe it's the only solution to become a serious contender, considering Celtics' weaknesses are defensive rebounds (This year, they are the 8th worst team in def reb%) and their abilities to stop dominant big-guys . Furthermore, I don't think Boston can even reach the ECF with Theis/RWIII/Kanter... it will maybe be the only occasion to trade for an all-star-big-guy, given that I don't see any team ready to trade a dominant-center.

In fact, I think trading Hayward for Love would be a W, however, I don't want Ainge to trade half of the Celtics bench + draft picks in order to keep Hayward.

I don’t think we’re in the market for Love, Woj just was saying we were a team that had interest in him at one point, not that we are actively interested. Doesn’t make sense for us unless we can add him without trading away our main guys, still not sure what the hurry is to trade away Hayward, and Cleveland I doubt wants to swap those two, I’d think they’d be looking for young players/picks.

I'm not sure how the Celtics could even afford him. Maybe like Smart Langford and filler but that won't get the Celtics to where they need to be.

New unspoken rule - any poster who says we should trade either Hayward or Smart for Love gets 4 lifetime bans from this board.

If the Celtics want to be a serious contender, they need to upgdrade their frontcourt. How can they beat the 76ers/Bucks in a playoff series with Theis/Kanter/RWIII? Many times this season, this particular weakness concerning their lack of abilities to dominate the paint has been exposed. The most flagrant example was when they lost against the Kings. Surelly it's one of the tallest team in the League and it's not representative of the whole League. However, as I wrote it, Celtics' most serious rivals during the 3-4 next seasons will be the Bucks and the 76ers. Thus, they need to do something in order to hide this weakness.
I think Hayward is a very good player but I don't think it's a player who can carry this team to the Finals.

It's why I wouldn't mind if a swap was made. But as I said, I don't think the Cavs want Hayward anyways. I think Love would be an upgrade but his contract his awful and I doubt the Celtics want to give up draft picks and their rooks.

trading the better player because Love is a "pf" more than Hayward without ignoring the part his softeness will do nothing to slow down the sixers/bucks in the playoffs is how you lose games.

There is no size in the nba that can stop the size of the sixers/bucks. But.......... you can spread the floor with wings and make the big slows defend the whole court, get tired, and give up 3's and lose. We beat the bucks already this way, and had a poor game against the sixers but were in it the first 3 quarters in our first game.

Watch when the sixers lose, it's becase they give up 3pt shots.

Just because a player is available at a position of weakness, does not mean we have to trade better players and more assets to try and get him. There will be other (cheaper) options.
