Yeah I saw, I was just expressing surprise/skepticism- the rumors are that we don't deal any "core players" (incl. Hayward and Smart?), that we're interested in Drummond, and that we're monitoring Gallinari..
FWIW:
Hayward to Indiana
Myles Turner, TJ Warren to Detroit
Andre Drummond, Poirier, Kanter-or-Theis to OKC
Adams, Gallo to Boston
The Indiana-Detroit piece has been floated already by Bleacher Report - and ddb suggested it; OKC would be sending out 72 million in 19-20/20-21 salary (prorated) and taking back 70 million, except Kanter has an opt-out and Drummond has an opt-out he's almost definitely using - they could try to keep him or let him walk, and either way it's arguably a win for them.
We give up the most well-rounded and probably best player in the deal, but Adams is ... good. Trying to think of where I'd rank him among centers - he's a great and selfless rebounder, tremendous screen-setter, smart player on both sides of the ball, strong, and you'd want a little more foot speed, but OKC had an elite defense last year with him at the 5 until Jerami Grant got hurt - as long as we have a fast, athletic player at the 4 who can rotate when Adams is a beat slow, he's a great fit on that end. Decent post scorer, can probably be coaxed into developing a three-point shot and can hit some of those mid-range jumpers Baynes did. He's probably.. tier 2? tier 3? Embiid is the only great two-way center at this point, he's in a class of his own; there are flashier bigs, obviously Jokic, Vucevic are more gifted offensively, and Towns, and Capela, Favors, Gobert are defensively elite- Ayton, Sabonis, Towns and Drummond could all be top three centers at some point in their career with more refinement.. but Adams is good the way Horford is, the way Smart and Grant Williams are, he does a lot of little things, don't show up in the box score things, his execution is elite-ish (is that a thing?).
And Gallo is an ok replacement, and, like Drummond for OKC, someone we could try to flip for different value if we wanted to. I don't love it, I'd probably rather just get Turner (spacing, great defense, but a bad rebounder, inconsistent scorer, a little bit slow laterally) and Warren (great scorer, tunnel vision, not much of a defender), or Drummond. Adams isn't as "sexy" as Drummond, he doesn't have the same upside, but Drummond's flaws (execution, awareness, focus, consistency, intensity) are his strengths..
