Same, brother. Been 7 years of marriage. I'm entering a new decade of age. My dad was incredible and I feel like becoming a father would be the highest honor I could show him. But I come home from work and do whatever the **** I want. I eat whatever I want. I sleep and wake whenever I want to. I like the freedom of not having another human being that I need to take care of (beyond those of my wedding vows) and it's tough to imagine that changing.

Having nieces and nephews within 20 minutes is wonderful. Spoil them rotten, go to their tee ball games, take them to the pool and movies, and never have to deal with their unholy sleep schedule or psychopathic tantrums.

If they have any sense whatsoever they'll cancel it.

5 daughters here.

Couldn't imagine not having kids, but like you guys, I enjoyed the hell out of life until I had 'em. My first one was when I was 30 (married at 29).

I know everyone has heard the cliches, but you won't ever understand it until you have one. At times I envy people who don't, but mostly I love every second of it. And I'm old enough now that grandkids are on the radar (48), which is an unbelievable thought as well.

I'd say "go for it", but obviously every person is different and some anonymous schlub on a message board has no idea what's best. All I'll say is that I was somewhat on the fence about kids as late as my mid-to-late 20s, and now I can't imagine how there was ever any doubt.

This is what gets my about my parents - they keep pushing me to settle down and start a family because they're desperate for grandchildren to spoil. And I'm like - are you going to have to deal with ALL of the challenges that come with raising kids? No? Then chill the f out.

They've already said "volleyball tournaments are never cancelled because of weather". It's going to be a nice icey drive up there and a 15 MPH slog back.

I'm not into watching streamers, Twitch, etc. but this dude popped up in my Youtube recommendations yesterday and has had me crying from laughing so hard.

He uses voice fx to pretend he is an old lady, a virtual PC to mimic websites, and then baits online scammers into wasting hours of time on him. Eventually he gets them yelling and swearing at him in frustration or doing goofy things like singing songs. I was just listening to the audio at my desk today and was laughing like a maniac.

Yeah that's completely idiotic. Maybe your coach will have enough sense to not go.

Raining hard here. Ice coming. Then snow. Oh well, it's mid January until winter really hits, can't really complain. The third week of January is historically the coldest of the year. It's suppose to be in the 40's part of next week.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah. I work with a lot of folks who live up North and they gave me zero sympathy when I talked about the weather down here.

I hate the ice but I don't mind the cold and the snow so much.

I don't think anyone prefers the ice to the snow. Yesterday it was pretty nasty up here too. I skidded out twice, once on my way out of work in the parking lot, and another time taking a side road. I lost control, went right into a divider, and there was a cop about a 100 yards away watching the whole thing. No damage because of the snow build up, and he let me go on my way because he was talking to a couple tow truck dudes because he **** up too.

Sounds awful. Take care out there.

That goes for everyone tonight. I slid my home tonight before the worst of it began to fall. I went grocery shopping at Hy-Vee on the way home and the whole **** store was as packed as I can ever remember it being. A lot of people doing what I was doing - trying to get whatever they needed for the next 48 hours or so.

I am seeing this damn earwax ad on every single website I visit this morning. Sometimes it appears multiple times. I was scrolling down this thread to get to the bottom and make my post and I saw this ad TWICE on the same page. I went to upload it on ImgBB, and I saw the ad there too. Why is this everywhere? Is this some national health crisis all of a sudden?

Spoiler:

It reminds me of this, which still makes me chuckle:

What am I missing? It looks like he tries to grab the umbrella from the guard so he can hold it himself, which doesn't seem like an idiotic thing to do?
