Next two years are his shot

I dont think it will be this year- unless the lakers are just not ready as a team...I just feel like- one way or another the
lakers will have the luck in their favor this year- whether an opponent is injured- they rise to the occasion...I feel like
Kobe gave so much to the game that it would only be fitting for the BB gods to properly send him off...we'll see Cap...

Oh I mean next and the year after.

With Dame though you never do know ;-)

Still don't get it. 99% of all American team owners, Corporate CEOs, etc are certified Republicans. No matter who's in the office.

one thing is to wear cowboy boots in Texas, but another in NY. Or LA. Exposure. call me out if I am wrong, but there is a political undetone as well.

Zion is a beast. No question he is going to be the best player from this draft.

Ja and the Grizzlies had no chance without JJJ and Brandon Clarke.

So, how long before Mavs admit Doncic and Porzingis don't fit together?

Trade Doncic to Knicks for 2 Dallas picks, Mavs should rebuild around Glass.

Knicks get their man. Wishful thinking.

No sane big time player will come to NYK in this awful atmosphere, under this management or with this owner. Partially because the franchise is being mismanaged by 2 fools and partially because no sane big star black man is coming to Dolan's team when Dolan is funding Trump's campaigns. (This aspect is under-discussed on this board, btw) With this front office, you may draft the next MJ yet you will not notice. because he will be benched and underdeveloped. I am in here because I still love the Knicks and wish NYK well. A certain fantom feeling. But don't **** on KP when it is undue.

Haha fund campaigns?. I bet you that at least 97% of the owners do, and how do you know that even MJ doesn't contribute to Trump's campaign. MJ is a billionaire with capital gains that for that range is making buukuu dollars right now with all the tax breaks.

While some players don't want the bright lights, there have been others that once they come to NY, don't want to leave regardless who's running the team.

Also I still haven't understood your "sane big black man" part of your post.

What is not to understand? Many folks in this business are highly opinionated on many political, racial, social, etc. issues. KD , LBJ, you name it, Kobe (God bless his soul) have been quite outspoken on many of that. Do you really think that nobody noticed that Dolan has/is funding DT's campaigns? THJr sucks. He has a good game occasionally. Obviously the Knicks asked him to do too much after overpaying him. Glad he's gone.

KP isn't all that and we have 3 years+ years to judge it on. Is he awful? No. He's "decent". He's a volume shooter in a 7'3 body with a stretch PF game, emphasis on stretch and not on "power"

I would have been fine if he stayed but probably aggravated the Knicks had to max a 3rd option for 5 years to do it. Since they didn't, I'm glad.

Did the Knicks use the cap space wisely this year? Not at all. At least in 2 years they'll have "two max cats" cap space again. In fact, they could have had it next year, but Steve Mills got an erection for the latest iteration of a THJr player in Julius Randle. There is some small comfort in the fact he only gave him 2 years (and a tiny bit of money in year 3 that doesn't count) vs 4 years. I'd assume that was the tempering influence of Scott Perry.

I'd HOPED that when this was done (this was before FA) that with the cap space cleared, a HEALTHY KD and Kyrie would come. When that didn't happen, I HOPED they'd stick to one year contracts again (I've since reconsidered if this is wise) and assemble an "ok" team.

What's happened is obviously not that. As noted, Mills had to have his "project star" guy again, and Perry doesn't know how to assemble a basketball team. Or both or them. Whatever. Also what is clear is that Mr Freckly Resting Bitch Face has a HUGE EGO, and is determined to show the rest of the NBA what a great "talent evaluation" guy he is by constantly picking up guys he had some affiliation with. Obviously it's bad news, because all the guys he picks just aren't that good and it seems to me that it indicates he ultimately doesn't trust the guys who scout the NBA for the team or just respects his own opinion more each time. Or that the scouts suck. Any of those is bad news.

In a nutshell, I could see a good organization deciding the pull the trigger on a KP trade and I can understand why the Knicks might have done it. And the Knicks suck. Happy?

He scored a lot of points and didn’t chuck 3s but I still don’t think KP looked great. Mostly not guarded.

Potential is still there with him - I think. There was once play in the 4th quarter where he just uses his immense height and shoots right over Westbrook. But even when he produces l-like last night- he looks like he's operating on a 1/4 tank of fuel. And he still cant pass the ball.

Not sure. Potential for what? Third scorer tops.

To sh..it on KP when he has a great night. How deep some will sink? Alleged intellectuals. The results of this trade will be seen in 2-3 years. Not now. It does not need a psychologist to understand it. Boxscore Warriors :) without watchinf the actual game. May I suggest that it can be the current NYK name?

I wasn't commenting on KP's game tonight as if one game has any bearing on considerations of a player's overall value or the long-term net gains and losses of trade packages, but go ahead and express your pusillanimous self to your heart's content. I don't mind

Explain to me, what are the long-term net gains? Dumping salaries for an imagined cap space? Because I see no other gain in this trade. No sane big-time player will come to NYK in this awful atmosphere, under this management or with this owner. Partially because the franchise is being mismanaged by 2 fools (and lying about KP trade reasons, btw), who still live in early 90-ties and partially because no sane big star black man is coming to Dolan's team when Dolan is funding Trump's campaigns. (This aspect is under-discussed on this board, btw) With this front office, you may draft the next MJ yet you will not notice. because he will be benched and underdeveloped. Are you deaf?

I clearly said I was not talking about a particular game by KP and also clearly stated I had not watched KP play the current game

I don't need your damn permission to say I don't think KP is a star regardless of what game is on the channel when I happen to be posting.

And I didn't say the Knicks won a trade. Smith looks like a washout. I merely said unloading Timmy was a plus and IF the first round picks pan out then the Knicks maybe got the better deal, because I don't think KP is that big a deal and not paying him max money is a plus.

Further, there was plenty of honesty on this board for a looooooooooong time before KP was traded about his limitations. Most Knicks fans that post here were very realistic about his stamina and durability issues along with his limited skill set. He's tall and he can shoot over you and he's tall so he blocks shots. If he had shown much more as a Knick than his epic one month run to start a season then many here would be able to say his prospects for a great career are very good. However, he is not great and never will be in all likelihood so take your BS and go yell at someone else.
