And, they are getting it done even without picks. It is all about not following the latest fad like the Bulls seem to do very badly. And, also not depending on the draft as the only source of talent because talent is all over the place. You need to recognize it and develop it.

Riley has that Showtime championship blood in him.

Meanwhile, GarPax are nothing more than bums riding on the coattail of the GOAT.

Seriously, Minny hasn't won a game with KAT playing since Thanksgiving....that's 16 losses in a row.

It is also about using bigs who can't playmake like Jokic as your 1st options on offense.

Exactly, half the shots in today's game are 3 pointers which create more long rebounds and their guards and wings are pretty good at tracking them. Not just that though, the centers that are great rim protectors get taken out to the 3 point line, which effectively removes their value on the defensive end and increases the value of Harden/RW with their drives to the basket. They are basically saying that we can shoot 3s and run better than your big man can score down low on a short guy. It's definitely an interesting gamble that Morey is taking.

Compared to what GarPax are doing anything is tantilising!

it will indeed be a fascinating science experiment. can't wait for the playoffs when they have to deal with AD, gobert and jokic in a 7 game series

maybe morey is trying to make amends with chinese fans by using short lineups

if jordan bell can serve as a poor man's capela, the trade accomplishes its intention as an overall talent upgrade regardless

I still think they would get destroyed by the Lakers and Bucks, their talent is too much to overcome regardless of how unorthodox HOU goes, but I think they'd give Denver and Utah a run for their money. Hell, Jokic might be out of breath by the 2nd quarter.

Geez what’s up with that? We’ve won basketball games with Luke Kornet and Cristiano Felicio. We even beat Minny with them.

This trade deadline is somewhat irritating me as a Bulls fan. The deals I see thrown out there and achieved make you wonder what the front office is being paid for.

You think of Miami where their team just last year was going no where with one of the highest team salaries in the league. That for us would be a major disaster. But not for Riley. He flipped a few players, moved some of their ready young players up and still had the money to grab Jimmy. Even after all that, still is trying to move the needle by acquiring Iggy and maybe a few more.

To me the issue with GarPax is they have been in their position so long without pressure or consequence that they have no real foresight anymore of what they league is or how to build a great team.

I hope GarPax aren't allowed to do business anymore and are fired after the all-star game. They can probably stay on for the show, and maybe Reinsdorf will look for a replacement when everybody and their moms are in Chicago. *pray*

Both 76ers and Memphis made trades and filled their needs, looks like Valentine won't be moved.

Also look at how he built/masked Josh Richardson’s value, bordering Jimmy’s value. Now look at Josh Richardson.

Not the first time he’s done it. I’m thinking back to Caron Butler; he convinced the league he’s the next Grant Hill, till he became an overpaid journeyman after leaving the Heat. Now you have Nunn and Herro, who are no doubt impressive rookies, but I’m sure he’d move them if the right player came out.

And the thing is, he’s not just BSing the value. He gets those guys to excel on teams with good chemistry and two-way systems.

Really impressive. Also — I don’t ever remember injuries thrown out as an excuse, despite Bosh retiring early on a max contract with a blood clot health condition, which they continued paying for years after his last game.

Riley is just a boss. An underrated part of their success is how they select and develop players that would excel on their system. How many up and comers have they "showcased" the last few years? It was Richardson last year, Whiteside was one for a little bit, and now they seem to have found gems in Nunn and Herro. Their FO and Coaching staff working together to develop players and provide stability on the team is a huge part on what makes them successful.

Meanwhile in Chicago, we have the FO undermining their head coach, an assistant coach undermining the head coach and almost 2 years in now and we still don't know that system Boylen has in place.

It’s got me watching.

I think Rockets are more dangerous now.

Anybody else want to switch their LP from the Bulls to the Grizz?

Morant is so fascinating to watch.

Bulls should put in a claim for Jonah Bolden if there's a waiver type system - if not, just pick him up. Need more bigs who can shoot a bit, and Bolden has some talent.
