Napier? Really? Spellman doesn't give us the size we need.

I disagree. Spellman’s got a 7’2” plus wingspan, so his standing reach is 9”, which is fine for a 4/5. Because of his width, he plays “bigger” on D—and the wingspan makes him a surprisingly adequate rim protector too. Put it this way—he’s got two inches more standing reach, is 30-35 pounds heavier, and blocks about 50% more shots than JaMychal, who occasionally plays as a small C. Spellman’s big enough to man the 5 for 5-10 minutes a game, and spread the court. This season he's playing 60% at PF and 40% at C. That’s what we want. We don't need a 25 mpg player (unless we move Zu). We need a 10-15 mpg who plays against certain lineups/matchups. Spellman could do that.

Napier is pretty much exactly what we need—a second unit playmaking guard. He’s a career backup; he’s a 15-20 mpg player and a spot starter in case of emergency injury. The things with both of these guys is I suspect they’re available.

This is where the Jerome pick is coming back to bite us. I'd rather not trade Fi before he gets a chance to develop for us.

I honestly can't imagine what the hold-up is. Maybe the front office is trying to convince the Knicks to take Rome instead of Fi/Mann? :dontknow:

I was hoping they take Jerome Robinson instead of Mann. But with the # of bricks Jerome put up this year it's a no brainer.

Not a fan of the deal as presented so far. In the end it’s paying two firsts for Marcus Morris (whether one of them Mfi or Jerome) for a few months of Morris, who I dont think improves the team that much

Please tell me that sending Robinson to the Wiz is real and that we get Troy Borwn Jr in return.

That would be amazing but I doubt it, last I heard Washington was asking for two first rounders.

I have to say Miami and Memphis are both doing a good job. Miami gets Iggy and Crowder. A surging Memphis gets Winslow to improve them defensively.

Memphis is beginning to play like a team that I wouldn't want to play in Round 1. Young, loose and with no expectations.

Are you kidding me? You care about prospects right now? The clippers are in win now mode.

when have the clippers really develop deep projects like that?

Sga was a good pick and shamet was a good three point shooter coming in a trade.

The clippers are not the Miami heat or the raptors in terms of developing talent. This is a great deal. The 2020first is going to be a late pick.
