How did the office pull this one off?

Rental of Morris AND Isiah Thomas too? For Harkless and a draft pick?

I'm amazed we were able to keep Fi and Mann after all.

IT is going to be waived. That means we gave up Harkless, Rome, and Walton for Morris. Look for at least one pickup from the buyout market, probably starting with a PG.

As far as I can tell, JRob had nothing to do with this deal. We dump him just to free up a roster spot and get under the luxury tax threshold.

The money didn’t work straight up for Morris and Harkless so it was Jerome or the rookies. Front office came up clutch with the Wizards still being interested in Robinson so we worked a three way trade

A little pissed you guys wouldn't give up Shamet. But this isn't a bad deal, considering we just signed Morris to a 1 year deal last summer.

Good luck.

Morris is tough as nails. He's been killing it from 3. And can be a scoring force. Sometimes he had a tendency to hold the ball too long though. But if he's playing with Kawhi instead of Randle, I think he might give it up a little easier.

It does if Beverly misses time because we had to play Robinson during those stretches

When Kuzma was known to be off the table I don’t think they had the force to put pressure on the clips. The Knicks wanted to move on from him

How's Mook's defense? I know it's not elite, but is he going to be a liability or able to guard some elite 4/5s?

Clippers have announced the Walton deal, but have not yet made an official announcement on the Morris/Thomas deal.

Only Aldridge is reporting Thomas getting waived. The guy knows jack squat about what the Clippers are doing, If it isn't Woj, it is hard to trust.

The Walton deal makes no sense from an Atlanta perspective. I am reading we traded him to Atlanta for a 2nd round pick and cash. Atlanta then put him on waivers.

I assume it's the same deal as free agency where the league office is slowly working through the different transactions before they can be announced. Other trades, like the Andre Drummond trade, haven't been officially announced either.

We gave them more cash than Walton makes, and they waive him, so they make some money for doing basically nothing. There is no "real" second round pick. The restrictions on it make it so they it will never be sent. So in essence we gave Atlanta cash to help us clear a roster spot.

Now the question is...why? Why did we feel the need to clear another roster spot? I don't see how it's related to the Morris trade. In that trade we sent two players and received two players, so we didn't need another roster spot open.

Do we have another player in mind to pick up with that spot? Collison?

I believe we gave them the cash [$1.3M, I saw somewhere] for taking Walton off our hands and clearing cap space for us. They pay off the rest of his contract of about $600K [they have cap space] and keep the rest of the dough. This is the sort of clever move we pay Winger and all those FO dudes to gin up.

The 2nd rounder was conditional--you have to trade something of value, even if it's the rights to Cenk Akyol*--but since they cut Walton it will never be conveyed.

ADD: The pick is Top 55-protected, which could be the reason instead that's it's not expected to be conveyed.

No mention of Isaiah anywhere in the promotional material, which would appear to support the news that he's being waived.

This is probably all you need to know:
"Morris has been the nearest defender on 123 shots by LeBron over last 5 seasons, including playoffs, most in that span. He’s held LeBron to 42% shooting, 4th-lowest in the league (min. 50 FG)."

He played no defense in New York because our coaching is trash and there was zero accountability with the mercenary vets.
