McCaw is easily an NBA caliber player. He's actually a decent rotation player who sticks to his role offensively and plays sound fundamental defense.

On any other team he'd be a nice bench piece, but our bench is insane this year.

However, I played and I've followed teams where less talented players, played ahead of their more talented teammates because coaches had more confidence in them running the system they want to run.
TD's time will come (I hope before the playoffs), and it's a great thing that this is happening to him now. It will make him a lot more careful with the details on both offense and defense.
JN wrote:Once Powell comes back I hope that changes, as there will be less of a need to play McCaw and TD together.. it will be one or the other. I know last time it was more McCaw than TD, but I think NN has had a jump in confidence with TD recently. So I hold out some hope.

This is in response to those that claim that when McCaw comes in we immediately get worse and start blowing leads. We see it in every game thread.
In the 15 game winning streak
Raptors are +14.8 / 48 minutes that McCaw is on the floor
Raptors are +8.8 / 48 minutes when McCaw is not on the floor
Positive impact of +6.0 / 48 during the streak.
If we keep it to the last 7 games with Masked McCaw
Raptors are +14.9 / 48 minutes that Masked McCaw is on the floor
Raptors are +5.6 / 48 minutes when Masked McCaw is not on the floor
Impact of +9.3 / 48 minutes
I know +/- is far from a perfect stat, but it certainly shows that the momentum has not shifted negatively when he has been on the floor recently. In fact our team has performed better with him on the floor ... significantly better during the streak. Before this streak the stats were certainly going in a negative manner, but not lately.
I am not a McCaw supporter by any means. I was open to Nurse giving him an extended chance to prove himself. Eventually I had enough and began to admit that Nurse was a great coach who was making a judgment error of some note. Now I am moving to "acceptance" and this isn't really hurting us and that Nurse may know what he is doing.
