You think Oubre can net us Gordon AND a mid first?
Depends upon how the Magic manage to make the playoffs, And whether or not they flame out early **( Can Gordon maintain his current production) And also IF the rumors are true that they've been trying hard to move him around the trade deadline. Gordon is on a tear right now, However, But, As you yourself have already said before, he's not a good scorer or shooter overall. So it then depends upon which player would be a better fit/ compliment for them next to Issac. Who's strength is really defense right??
I'd wager they'd prefer a more competent scorer in Oubre for 15 million this year and next, As opposed to Gordon at 19 million this season and 18 million next perhaps, And also they don't have to pick up Diallos' team option by June 29th 2020.

Or Okobos' extension either due by July 6th 2020.
https://hoopshype.com/player/elie-okobo/salary/ So altogether, They could additionally save 7 million in cap space heading into this summer. So ultimately yes. I think the framework is there for such a trade to take place. Also it's to our benefit that everyone apparently views this draft as being really poor in comparison to others. But IF they wanted more value, I'd simply pass and explore other options.

Doesn't matter to them how much money Oubre makes this year since they won't have him at all for this year. We're already past the trade deadline.
Yeah, You're definitely right on that point man. Overall, I suppose that I would be fine with playing out the season to see how the team actually meshes together when almost all are healthy. And then look at trades with them during the summer IF the situation is right. And ultimately, As long as the front office has an actual big plan to help us take that next crucial step, I'll be pacified for a bit. I'll always be intrigued by the possibility of getting back to a run n' gun style of play with Gordon being part of a potential unstoppable fast break.
He is still a free agent in 2022 also. But all this craziness is really just my base infatuation with our team being relevant again man. And no longer being the whipping boy for big market teams.
What would be truly awesome is ifvwe somehow lucked into a top 3 pick, And could choose one of either Wiseman or Edwards or Ball. But onlybfor the purpose of trading back in the draft. Maybe Edwards or Ball to Minnesota for the 5 and the 16th pick ( Brooklyn) *** Which is starting to look really good with Irving out again. Minnesota could end up with two really nice lottery picks potentially.
The other consideration might be to trade one of Wiseman or Ball to New York in exchange for the 5th and the 25th pick. But with the Minnesota pick, We might be able to get both Toppin and Hayes. Or Reed and Haliburton, or Avdija and Vassell? You get the idea.
And with the New York trade, We could likely get some combination of Hayes and Reed, or Toppin and Maledon, Hayes and Achiuwa, or maybe Haliburton and Okoro perhaps? And since we aren't expecting too much from this draft at the top, for our needs, As we don't need Wiseman, Or Edwards, and probably have no interest in Ball either, it becomes an excellent opportunity to pull value from a average draft. Both for roster depth and the development of future tradable assets.
