I feel like that Medium article I posted was written specifically for you. If you haven’t read it, please do.
Focus on growth rates and what has happened in countries that were hit first and then countries like Italy that chose not to take this seriously.
A measured one-to-one response is not appropriate. You have to remain ahead of something like this. I fully appreciate the unfortunate circumstances of what that overreaction brings but hard choices have to be made. I don’t envy world leaders right now.
I did actually read what you posted and it was good information—when you say “written for you ”, I want to be clear that I have a decent understanding of the fact that infection rates of this virus are very high and that our lack of anti-viral medication compounds the seriousness of this all. My point has been that we are approaching very serious repercussions as a result of pressure on leaders and industries to do something to “save us all” I guess when it would appear that only a specific group of people has reason to be especially fearful of a COVID19 infection.
Someone else here brought up a good point that we are relying on a lot of info from China as well, who we know isn’t always transparent. Maybe this virus is much worse than it seems but MY conclusion looking at the same numbers as everyone else is that I must question the context of scary looking numbers before I respond in a panic.
Not directed at you, but forgive me also for relying on the input of a medical doctor who happens to be “my girlfriend” which I suppose discounts whatever information I receive from that source.
i think the thing was, it was the way you dismissed any concern.
this was your first response on the post about the season being suspended
This is ridiculous. Mass hysteria over nothing and PC culture coming in hot.
COVID 19 is more lethal than the common flu, but not by much
depending which numbers you look at, its anywhere from 10x to 30x more deadly.
I’m saying that the speculation here is counter to what most doctors are telling the public and causing tons of issues over something that is likely not as serious as it is being portrayed.
most doctors have been saying its serious. I even posted what Anthony Fauci, head of Infectious diseases stated.
Lmao so there will be 7.7 billion cases of COVID 19 by the end of the year? You’re assuming the 3% remains constant and also that every person on the planet will contract the disease. Pretty bold.
its not that there will be that many cases, just that many people exposed to it.
Plus again, you assume that 3% will remain constant. Generally, as more cases come in and if the virus behaves in the way many doctors currently suspect, the mortality rate will drop.
unless it mutates. And also, we still have no vaccine for it. It could mutate to be vaccine proof, similar to what happened with mrsa
Thank you for your holier than thou approach and your input as an ortho
i'll just say, as an ortho, he has tons more experience than i will have in the health field.
not trying to post these as an attack, just showing how people were viewing your posts and attitude about it. you seem to discount any view of caution as nothing more than hype. by your later posts today, you seemed willing to view this in a different light.
