I can't stop thinking about the billions and billions poured into the war machine and how that money could be so much better spent for the good of the people

It’s a cluster on many levels, and yes the boss bears responsibility.

You didn’t answer question.

Of course the buck stops at the top. And he should be second guessed. As should all politicians on all sides, by all people. Consistent and evenly applied criticism for all parties. We the people should not take things at face value.

But unlike you, I know POTUS and his administration and all our political leaders have more data and intel and guidance and resources to make a decision and course of action at that precise moment and time.

I don’t care that they have more data and intel than us. If they don’t analyze that data correctly (or worse, if they weaponize it), it has no value to me.

When the President in early March says, "within a couple of days [new cases are] going to be down to close to zero. That's a pretty good job we've done”, are we to trust his data? Or our lying eyes?

When he claims, in February, no less, that “anybody that needs a test gets a test”, are we to find refuge that he has access to special data and intel that give faith in the veracity of his words? Even if we can’t actually get tested?

At what “precise moment and time” are we to believe new cases will reach zero? At what “precise moment and time” will all people that need a test be able to get one?

These aren’t rhetorical questions.

When it comes to this virus, it’s been a cluster from the top down.

I have no use for the Presidents words, or intel.

And we still can’t get tests.

billions? more like trillions.

All quotes if he took the other side.

Note: don't jump in saying I think he has done everything right. No he has not. But no POTUS would get this right. Because it is the job of vocal minority to scream loudest and try and be right at all costs.

Yet fact remains...

We still can’t get tested.

And you personally believe that is because of direct action of one man — Trump?

And to clarify, he got true reports that testing could be ramped up so everyone could be tested weeks/months ago. He got intel that entire US would need to be tested and capability is there — but he said “nope.” All on his own accord?

Don't get me wrong, I fully think or guess that's exactly what happened. But, that quote there is just one guys speculation as to why, it's not like he's even saying that Trump directly said it. It's his speculation as to why. As I said, I agree with him, but that's not proof

It’s illustrative for a man to muse out loud, about a cruise ship moored with Americans (and coronavirus) off California’s coast:

I like the numbers being where they are. I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault... I would rather have [those Americans] stay on (the ship) personally

The numbers are what’s most important. How we get to them is a secondary concern.

And all this intel and guidance lead to educated quotes like...
"Anybody that needs a test gets a test"
"I like the numbers being where they are. I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship"
"(The number of cases) Within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That's a pretty good job we've done"
"We're going very substantially down, not up"
"It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear"

Wonder what Fauci or other CDC guys think about these quotes.

Russia actually handles this extremely well, but they closed the border with China (2,615.5 miles) immediately after the virus was detected, started quarantining everyone coming from abroad and implemented other very restrictive measures.

Don't buy into the CNN stories.
I don't believe that propaganda. I also heard Putin say they have no gay people in Russia. I bet he gets bent over on a nightly basis.

Almost? At least in the beginning they explicitly were trying to do that. Trump specifically, and it's already been reported by the NYT.

Don't forget they unleashed the full power of the alpha private sector, don't forget to buy Labcorp or Quest stock as they probably bought the bottom and always mention those two on TV.

Yep. He's being dumb by doubling down. He should be the first person to volunteer. All leaders should.

You know damn well if Trump got tested:

"See only the rich get tested. Common folk can't get a test but Trump sure can."

"Selfish Trump, people are dying in his streets and he is using his power to waste a test on him."

"I bet his stupid family has all been tested too."

It's not only because his response hasn’t been ideal that’s made even his supporters voice their displeasure with him; it's the way he tried his best to minimize and even mock the gravity of the outbreak. He has a very rabid following and his words are usually taken as Gospel by his ardent followers. To say he's gotten it wrong would be an understatement tbh.
As for getting tested, no one with a sane mind would be upset that the leader of the world's moat powerful nation got tested after he came in contact with people who now have the virus. To even make that argument is immature.
And a quick read about his recent address:
