As a person under the age of 50 and with a strong immune system, I have zero interest in taking a new vaccine for Covid.

And the vaccine can have unintended side effects that cant possibly be known if it's fast tracked. I'd have to be certain that its safe before i even think about taking it

It's all the people who only started realizing that Covid-19 issue is a real thing after Gobert's positive result and the immediate suspension of the NBA season following the result.
Hilarious ...but that's where we are as a society.

The world needs to come down on hard on China. Miss me with this xenophobic defense; this is the 3rd time in a fairly recent window that an outbreak started there and reached across the world.
It's not racist. It is the Chinese virus and the world shouldnt be sensitive about it. China needs to be told to get their chit together
These sorts of posts get warnings/strikes and suspensions now that the moderators have warned people in thread numerous times.

I saw a video of the wet market. The theory that the outbreak starting from there wouldn't be shocking news. It is.....to use the kindest words I can find....pretty gross.
The world, not just China, needs to ban wet markets. It is nasty.

WHO telling like it is.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28917855/four-nets-players-test-positive-coronavirus
People can't see that we live in a clickbait media environment. No media is going to publish a headline: "COVID causes mild symptoms, most people recover." because it won't get any reads. Fear, panic, hate is what gets reads, and so all the media puts out are doom and gloom articles. And we think that will all the doom & gloom articles in circulation, that it's actually the norm when it's not.
And because we have such a fragile ego and being wrong is too painful, we call anyone who disagrees dumb, racist, ignorant, evil, etc.
For most people, the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.

what about all the epidemics that have started in yemen, mexico, west africa, haiti, etc. swine flu, ebola, cholera outbreaks have all killed more.
you think about china as the epicenter of all these diseases because, yeah, it is xenophobia and society encourages sinophobia. and they do have these sorts of diseases there because it's a poor third world country that a lot of people from all around the world are constantly traveling back and forth from.
anyway, i don't know how you missed literally the first post in this thread telling you not to post about this.

i think we pretty well know this, and folk are worried about getting sick and then transferring it to old people with compromised immune systems.
also i think there is some kind of disaster fetish, why else are all those rich idiots in northern california building underground bunkers and maybe only tangentially related but why are all those tv shows and podcasts about serial killers, specifically men murdering women, so popular?

It seems pretty obvious that what is happening in Italy RIGHT NOW is a doom and gloom scenario where doctors are having to decide who to save, and would also be a 'doom and gloom' scenario in other countries- regardless of what the mortality rate is.

Ya, there's really no comparison. What other country has produced outbreaks that have reached around the globe? Some countries have outbreaks that have few cases around the world but the largest affect is on those home countries. This is 3rd time that China has produced an outbreak and this time it might legit crash the entire world economy.
That you think that shouldnt be a topic of discussion is ridiculous. It's not racist to question the hygiene of China's food markets.
