Most lockdowns seem to allow essential services which tends to be a very expansive list. People can still leave the house to exercise or walk the dog, but are supposed to maintain distance from others. You can still gonget groceries too. But things that are largely recreational like going to movies and meeting up with friends are out.
The point is to make people wake up and realize how serious this is. No one is going to be arrested for driving around.
Public buy in is important but unfortunately it seems a lot of people have to have this thing right on their doorstep in order to start taking it seriously. Even then, it's no guarantee.
You are totally right. I had to run out today here in the Charlotte suburbs and it was basically business as usual from what I could see.
It's going to take stacks of bodies and people being impacted personally to get people to act... which of course means it will be too late and we'll have some worst case scenario situations
