Coughing up blood is scary. When I had my bout about 2 weeks ago with the horrible chest/lung issues, I coughed up some blood and it was very worrisome. Luckily it stopped though.

That's an amazingly useful loophole. I've always thought if Dr's gave me a 10% chance to live why not let me try some random potential cure? You get to be a guinea pig for science basically AND may get lucky. Nothing to lose.LKN wrote:ClipsFanSince98 wrote:Damn Dirk great job putting together these threads man. You deserve a paycheck!
Anyway, some good news.

The man had already said his goodbye's to his wife and children when Dr's tried one last thing. The Malaria drug. The best thing our country did in his crises was break down all the walls that block people from experimental drugs/treatments.

It was already approved for compassionate use. They allow quite a few things once doctors have determined that a patient is likely terminal since you can't really make things worse.

Right to Try act is one of America's greatest acts. It will save countless lives eventually. It's completely bi partisan and common sense IMO. In the past this guy would of died waiting for approvals.

Yeah New York numbers are scary. I have to keep considering population size but even still. They could be looking at 3000 deaths a day 2 weeks from now.

There are reports of people trying it for Covid and overdosing also.
There will be mixed results, which is why doctors are speaking more carefully about the drug.

However, keep in mind that the US has higher obesity rates and more diabetes, etc. I wouldn't count on the health of the US population to make things better.
