Did you find that out by watching CNN about Fox, because I read where Fox was saying CNN was the ones downplaying calling it a hoax all along. Thus, depending on the news outlet your watching, they are all just trash talking each other. Unless you actually watched that news network make hoax claims, people are just promoting their sheeped reports from biased news outlets.

"I know you are, but what am I" isn't going to be a good defense from this. There will be a reckoning when this is over, and soon fear is going to turn to anger. People are on videotape, we won't need CSI to figure this out. The mantra on the right was that the left was hyping this up, first I heard that CNN was calling this a hoax. This isn't meant to be nasty or to fight about it, but I respectfully disagree.

I don’t care about left or right wing high school drama media outlets.

I care about the elected President of the United States calling a pandemic now expected to soon top 100,000 US deaths a “hoax” during a window of action for saving lives.

No, Shands hospital and UF tested a bunch of non symptomatic seniors from the Villages. All of them came back negative.

I've also heard the test was only 60% accurate.

This is what gets me about the current state of politics - with social media, the general public are more informed (and misinformed) than previously. But the entire world has known for months now that people spread it before they show symptoms. For a governor to act like they were unaware of those details, well then they should be forced to step down in a moment like this because clearly they're incapable of staying on top of things. Or, they're lying, which makes them equally untrustworthy and incapable.

There is just no accountability in politics anymore.

It's a lot easier to troll and and deny than actually getting out of your ass and make preparations, then if crap hits the fan claim ignorance. I don't think he actually did not know that.

Its not high school drama. You have one major outlet that was intentionally putting out false information, now finding out that they were sorely wrong and deflecting it onto others. This is why you can't say a pox on both of your houses, pretend like its a problem on all sides when it clearly is not. This is what politicians are doing as well. So, people just hear the noise, don't take time to research the facts and information, and condemn the whole process. Facts matter, sources matter, information matters. So, are we going to just allow people to continue to put out bad information unchallenged, or at some point do we try to blunt or stop it as a community? What are we to do then? When I see bad information, whether its medical or political or whatever, I respond. What will the rest of you do? Apathy doesn't work in a democracy, not effectively. At some point all of us need to speak truth or we see everything we care about die on the vine. This is what I mean about getting involved. Take a stand for truth and quit condemning those who are already committed to it.

Sen. Kelly Loeffler sold at least $18 million more in stocks before the coronavirus crash than previously reported

Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) benefited from stock trades worth millions of dollars shortly before the general public was alerted to the severity of the Covid-19 crisis, selling off shares in industries that have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic and buying shares of companies that have benefited, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) report published late Tuesday.

Loeffler, who sits on the Senate Health Committee, first began selling stocks on January 24 — the same day that committee held a private all-members session on Covid-19 — and continued making trades in late February and early March.

According to her latest financial disclosure, which the senator provided to the AJC, her largest transaction involved the sale of $18.7 million in Intercontinental Exchange stock in three separate deals dated February 26 and March 11. Intercontinental Exchange operates global exchanges for several financial and commodity markets — and since Loeffler made her first sale, its stock has fallen by 16 percent.

Raising questions, however, is the fact that beyond Intercontinental Exchange, the couple also sold stock from other companies ultimately affected by the coronavirus, including a combined $155,000 or so from retailers Ross Stores, TJX Cos. (the parent corporation for T.J. Maxx and Marshalls), and upscale athletic-apparel company Lululemon over the same period of time.

And as Loeffler and Sprecher made those sales, a number of stocks added to their portfolio have seen gains as the Covid-19 crisis deepens. For instance, the couple obtained $206,777 in shares of chemical giant Dupont, which produces critical protective gear to combat transmission of the virus, in four separate transactions in late February and early March. They also acquired shares in telecommuting company Citrix on January 24 — again, the same day the Senate Health Committee held a private meeting about the coronavirus.

Four days after the briefing (and her acquisition of Citrix stocks), Loeffler accused Democrats of misleading the American public about the Trump administration’s response to the outbreak for political gain.

At the very least Loeffler and Burr should be forced to resign immediately, what they did was disgusting and egregious. Other senators like Feinstein, Pelosi, Inhofe and several others should be investigated thoroughly.

No, not at all, but it doesn't mean I don't care about truth. We all can have an opinion, and that's why I think all cable news is rather pathetic. Too much opinion and feelings wrapped around the information that we all need to be aware and make proper decisions. I get that part of it, but one outlet has been working as state T.V. for this administration, and that part is not equal on both sides. CNN and MSNBC as pathetic as they are at times, don't deliberately hold back information, or put out a false narrative, to make their political wants a reality. Well, at least not to the extreme that Fox does. During Bill Clinton's scandals, they ruminated about them daily. The same goes for Hillary's emails, they didn't hold back with the gossip portion of their show at all, because it sold and increased ratings. I too miss the days where the anchor just read copy, gave us the information, and we were responsible for how it made us feel. My response to BMP was because he put out an observable mis-truth. Anyone that has been following along knows that the viewpoint from the right was that those cable channels were over hyping it, trying to make Trump look bad, their latest hoax. Now, they want to play it off the other way around? Noway. Let's argue over opinion, but in order to do that we have to discern fact from opinion first. There is no arguing over facts, they just are. That's what I have a problem with, not you btw. I just used your comment to make a point.

Bigger pandemic we're dealing with is stupidity...just more visible now...hopefully, this will clear things up for future votes, but I doubt it. People are in "camps" with more baseless, blindly supportive loyalty than we give our hometown sports teams.

If the Magic are a dumpster fire, WTH are we looking at in the White House right now? (BTW, I consider myself a Republican but I can't pretend I can't see an arrogant, ignorant idiot who lies comfortably, makes s**t up on the fly, and gleefully self promotes regardless of reality) I can't even imagine what the world sees when they watch us stumbling around like idiots and then pretending it's all good. We've all been raised to see ourselves as the "World's Leader" in many ways, but that ship has sailed. Hopefully, we wake up.

Lots of non-Americans here...honest question - how's it look from there?

George W Bush was a Republican. I wasn’t a fan of Bush and while I disagreed with things he did I never questioned whether or not he himself believed he was doing what was in the best interest of the American people.

It is a difference of philosophies. We don’t have to agree on which is better and in fact I am grateful to live in a country where that is so.

... Trump however is NOT a Republican of the American people. He is a self absorbed idiot. In this time of crisis he is extremely dangerous.

Back to the governor of GA, Atlanta is major city with one of the busiest, if not the busiest airport in the country due to its hub status and his refusal to ignore this pandemic for all this time is not only negligent its probably criminal negligence.

She is mega wealthy, her husband runs the NY stock exchange, and she has been a major donor for some time, giving away campaign donations and that seems to be the prerequisite for her to get appointed senator. BTW she was appointed by this negligent governor of GA who just the other day said "This virus is now transmitting before people see signs, We didn't know that until the last 24 hours".

Well I live in Poland and we were one of the first countries to close our borders, promote social distancing and staying at home. We have a lot of problems regarding masks and protective gloves, some of our hospitals our being shut down right now due to coronavirus quarantine . I thought our government was doing a poor job, but then i read about usa and you have same problems as my middling european country and much much more. For a scientific center of the world you are doing everything wrong or last, and its kind of astounding.

Well I live in Poland and we were one of the first countries to close our borders, promote social distancing and staying at home. We have a lot of problems regarding masks and protective gloves, some of our hospitals our being shut down right now due to coronavirus quarantine . I thought our government was doing a poor job, but then i read about usa and you have same problems as my middling european country and much much more. For a scientific center of the world you are doing everything wrong or last, and its kind of astounding.

many country decisions here are made by businesses (lobbyists and their money in the hands of the right politicians and decision makers). This epidemic to me shows the decisions that the businesses are trying to make (delayed social distancing, re-opening the country and economy as early as possible, hospitals firing doctors who call out lack of protective gear) vs the medical experts and professionals and what we should be doing to be as safe as possible

Data released this week by the White House paints a bleak portrait for Florida’s hospitals, which are already grappling with the biggest public health crisis in a century with the worst still yet to come.

While the number of cases and deaths in Florida — 9,585 and 163 respectively as of Friday morning — get the most attention, hospitalizations are another important data point. Experts say that number is key to determining if hospitals are running out of beds, intensive care units and essential equipment such as ventilators and N95 masks.

The number of people who have at one point been hospitalized with coronavirus in hospitals has grown significantly since March 18 when there were only 66 statewide. By Thursday there were more than 1,200 and climbing, nearly doubling since Monday, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Nearly two-thirds of the state’s 6,000 ICU beds are already taken, according to Agency for Health Care Administration data on Thursday. And it’s still about a month before experts say the state will hit its peak number of COVID-19 cases.

That's worrisome, 2/3 of ICU beds are taken. People please stay home as much as possible.

Just watched another painful news conference by the President and the coronavirus task force. He is losing credibility every single day with these. We have had such little clarity this week and its already Friday. Time is ticking, just twiddling their thumbs while Rome is burning. The flippant jokes that he makes are so ignorant. He literally said that he had no involvement with this model, the coronavirus obviously, and made a reference that he's had involvement with other models, hilarious. I really need someone to explain to me why they see intelligence in this man. Please, I really would like to hear it. Sorry to digress, but its so frustrating.
