the team that has over $500 in cap space and can give him a 5th year

and did you trade KD and Kyrie?

Portland gets a good discount every FA, run your numbers again if you think $500 and some change will beat a 4 year offer from us.

I have ran my numbers. The bird rights NY has and the $548 of cap space...I don't see how Booker could turn down the 5th year in that scenario.

I'm not sure how the FA calc works on the ratings though to be certain.

I’m getting at least a $100 discount with FA calc, since Hoffa and Knicks usually are on the same tier, Hoffa can elaborate on how it is bidding against #1/#2 tier teams in FA.

this is the first year where bird rights are coming into play for FA though. So it won't be like the same.

Before hoffa and you were giving FA"s the same years. The 5th year will be huge in terms of contracts. I don't think the gap will be as big as it normally is.

There will still be a decent gap, and we’ve got slightly more money than Knicks so it’s pretty much a done deal

we will have to find out. I never have never had to bid on a player in FA really so I don't no all the dynamics. But I find it hard to believe NY will have to say go to 5 years/$500

and it would get beat by a 4 year/$450 by another team.

Seems crazy a FA would turn down that extra year which is by bird rights were so valuable. We will have to wait and see how all the calcs work out.

and there are also 3 other categories that can help close the gap as well. So its not just a category 5 to category 2 comp at this point. Its fluid per bish until all trades are accomplished before FA.

I'm intrigued to say the least.

At this rate Booker may become the second worst contract in the league only bested by no shot Simmons

How so? Booker is a top 3 scorer and a former All BaF Defensive Team member. The SIM gameplays him as an elite two-way player. And unlike Simmons he is a good shooter.

Yeah, somewhere in the $100-135 per range.

Thats why its so much better for teams to make an offer for Mikal Bridges...young and cost controlled for $29 a year for multiple years of control (with the ability to possibly extend him for a nice cheap deal). :D

I have had a few inquiries probably a future pick (depending what it is) and clear the roster spot.

Just a general announcement...please save the trade PM's until the new league year opens. My inbox is full of trades at this time that will get lost if I open them considering I won't be moving players from team to team until I put the Season 4 page together.

The many trades that were submitted today will need to be submitted again once the new year begins.
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning
