I’m getting at least a $100 discount with FA calc, since Hoffa and Knicks usually are on the same tier, Hoffa can elaborate on how it is bidding against #1/#2 tier teams in FA.
this is the first year where bird rights are coming into play for FA though. So it won't be like the same.
Before hoffa and you were giving FA"s the same years. The 5th year will be huge in terms of contracts. I don't think the gap will be as big as it normally is.
There will still be a decent gap, and we’ve got slightly more money than Knicks so it’s pretty much a done deal
we will have to find out. I never have never had to bid on a player in FA really so I don't no all the dynamics. But I find it hard to believe NY will have to say go to 5 years/$500
and it would get beat by a 4 year/$450 by another team.
Seems crazy a FA would turn down that extra year which is by bird rights were so valuable. We will have to wait and see how all the calcs work out.
and there are also 3 other categories that can help close the gap as well. So its not just a category 5 to category 2 comp at this point. Its fluid per bish until all trades are accomplished before FA.
I'm intrigued to say the least.
