Did anyone check this angle? Look how long it takes the ball to land after it bounces off his head. Scary stuff...

Not for fuggin' nuttin' but there are these contraptions called "Pitching Screens" that have been around since, um, I don't know, about 1955. I hear they're used to protect high priced starting pitchers from injury during batting practice and intra squad games during spring training.

:D

But Tanaka's not throwing batting practice here. I think they're doing a simulated game.

Pretty sure this is how every team does a simulated game. It's a simulation for the pitchers as well to face live batters.

Did Stanton injure himself on the play?
That'll probably be tomorrow.

One more reason not to like stanton... I’ve never been sold on this pick up

I know we poke fun at each other but I really don't believe that it's worth it to put the health and safety of these players )and their families?) on the line. Plus, even if they're cut off from their families these young men (mostly in the 20s-30s) are going to be able to hold back their urges without any human contact with the opposite sex. Prohibition, as we've learned throughout history, doesn't work.

This is going to fall apart quickly.

I don't see how this season is completed without a big chunk of every team's roster getting COVID, sad reality of things.

Same with NBA.

Agree completely. There was an article, in the NY Times I believe, that argued we should just cancel the season. With the NBA, we are probably going to lose the 20-21 season.

Edit: it was not the Times, it wa HuffPost

I truly think the NBA season won't be affected until LeBron catches it. God forbid, but it has to be someone of that caliber to finally wake these f*ckers up.

Or if Lebron speaks up. I have a feeling he's doing this for his legacy.

Legacy? What if he catches the virus? How will that reflect on his legacy? LeBron should be thinking about all of the lower paid players who feel that they need to risk their health and careers because they need to provide for their families during a pandemic and not his "legacy," whatever that means?

Yah, he's not thinking about that. I stopped respecting Lebron after the Hong Kong thing.

It won’t. This will be a complete disaster and all sports will have to shutdown in the fall.
