i think the bigger issue was good players being DNPd in favor of guys who would not see a lick of playing time in real life (and in some cases were not even on active NBA rosters)

i agree that is an issue and still wont stop someone from playing 1-star player over a 3-star player. But I don't think we can get into that dynamic where we are telling who to play based off ratings. In some instances a 2-star player might be better suited for a specific role than a 3-star.

So while I agree with you that say playing a d-leaguer over an established 3-star vet probably wouldn't happen in real life I don't think you can impose a play guys by there better rating rule. You just have to hope people try to be as competitive as possible even if they have a bad roster. For the good of the game.

At least what this proposed rule is suggesting is taking away the ridiculous lineup that would never ever be a legit option. Like Tacko Fall isn't going to be running PG in the NBA. Sorry Tacko but the SIM will try to run him there and he will turn it over 20 times. That seems ridiculous to me.

And its not limiting your roster if you have a case for playing a player outside of the position. For example to Deeeez point if you truly believe this is the right move for your team. You won't have an issue getting it approved.

So its really not limiting anyone but someone trying to lose.

Just have guys who suck, then guys who suck but are young so maybe they don't suck in like 4 years play all your minutes

you would. Wood is listed as a PF so he could play SG...and Drummond Porzingis and Reid can all play interchangably as the 5-4-3 under the rule change.

What it won't allow you to do is play Andre Drummond at PG. That is the only thing it won't allow you to do.

I am undecided...Some of the lineups can get ridiculous, but on the other hand I do like letting everyone do what they want.

Feel like I can't really say much against it cause I'm in direct competition for the teams messing with their lineups to tank, I just find it kinda annoying when people pretend that's not what they're doing when it very blatantly is

It's also a simulation, not real life, so I get why some things shouldn't have to be bound to what is in reality, like how you can play guys wherever you want in 2k. I think the split is between people who want it to be super realistic (as much as it can be given the nature of the game) vs people who want it to be unrealistic and just f*ck around

It sounds like teams can still tank and put in bad lineups though, right?

In the end, it all worked out for you anyway with the #1 pick.

I would not have played Westbrook at Center. It makes no sense; and if I did it, I’d be trying to lose the game. That’s not being innovative. It’s purposely putting my team in a position to lose.

And this is ultimately what I think the rule is trying to circumvent. No one is saying you can't be innovative. Under the rule I can play Michael Porter Jr at every position outside of PG...which I think is pretty damn accurate to me.

What it also will stop someone from doing is playing Mo Bamba at PG...that isn't "innovative" that is stupid and directly trying to throw games.
