Plus athlete in an NBA level frame (6'7, 230 lb, 7'1 wingspan), massive improvement from 3PT range (albeit low volume) and overall from his freshman to sophomore year. Great rebounder, defensive versatility is there. Is it the FT shooting that's putting people off? I like him a whole lot more than someone like Jah'mius Ramsey, Bolmaro, or Tyler Bey.
Lack of creation and doubts about the shot mostly. He's a lot of fun though, plays with a lot of energy, would not mind adding that kind of wing size/athleticism and defensive versatility.
Could not take him over Bolmaro, but could understand having Bey/Woodard in the same tier.
Not a fan of Ramsey, although McLemore's recent strong play might boost his stock.
The stats guys seem to love TBey - not to the extent they loved Brandon Clarke last draft - but not too far behind. I'm more of an SBey guy - because he can be a high volume 3 point marksman and is smart enough to be a better version of Jared Dudley, imo. I know people don't like his athleticism, but he's a better athlete than Dudley ever was - and Dudley was effective for several seasons and plays that same type of game. Heck, I don't think he's any less athletic than Middleton.
I definitely think Saddiq is a guy that will play for a long time, being a big shooter will generally keep you rostered. He is smart and motivated, plays hard, all things that are easy to love. His length helps negate some of his athletic shortcomings.
He moves way worse than Khris though IMO and doesn't have nearly the same shake to his game. Khris has been able to defend well against wings in the NBA (let's not talk about the Magic game, lol) but I think Saddiq almost has to be a small-ball four due to his limitations (even though he has shown capable of corralling speedy guards like Devon Dotson in a pinch). He is also really poor at getting over screens, which is not ideal. Great team defender though. Duds is a solid comp, but he was a better rebounder and passer coming out of BC.
I see a bit of Cameron Johnson, but again, Bey needs to be a more consistent rebounder. Jarvis Hayes maybe? Overall, I would welcome his high BBIQ and lethal spot-up shooting while questioning his impact/ceiling. For the record, I have him slightly ahead of TBey/Woodard, so I've risen on him a bit.
