Hayes at 3 wouldn't be a horrible choice. He has the best all around package of skills and size of any player in the lottery.
IDK.... The draft experts and a lot of fans have had the big 3 of Edwards/Wiseman/Ball in some order 1-2-3 for awhile. IMO, that's the first tier and then the next tier starts at 4. We hit lottery luck and we draft a guy in the second tier.....nah.
I have zero problem with us taking Blal there. I am a fan of Balls. Not a fan of wiseman or edwards at allll
Sounds good. That's what I like about this draft and this board - everyone has players they are higher on, and lower on. I have two feelings about the first three picks.....
1. I think Ball goes either 1 or 2. I think his potential star power will be locked in by some team and/or a trade up for his services will occur.
2. I trust Mitch to add an All-Star caliber player with our selection, regardless of position.
I honestly cannot gauge my thoughts on Ball. As soon as I want to lock in my vote to disregard him as a lot of hype that won't actualize because of his immaturity, I think of how special he might be too. A future backcourt of he and Graham is playground star-level exciting.
I personally like Wiseman and think he is a helluva piece to add to our young core, on a rookie contract. I think the concerns about him are no more merited than the concerns for any of the other 19 year olds slotted to go (Ball, Edwards, Avidja). I think Mitch will weigh the options, trust his gut and make the correct selection at 3. It's not often we are up this high, nor do we desire to be... so we've gotta Baron Davis this, and not Morrison it.
