Can't remember who, and can't find the notification, but whoever it was thanks. Okongwu would be a great add for the Bulls. He'll be a solid 2-way player in the league for years.
Only issue with Okongwu is we just drafted Wendell who can also develop a 2 way game and we still have Lauri. Are we officially giving up on them? Can they not be fixed and put in the right direction? Wendell has only played 2 seasons, has been hurt a good % of the time and he really hasn't been put in a system to make him grow under poor coaching. If we add a Okongwu or Wiseman, we're only hurting their ability to play and make progress. It's not like Okongwu stands out either above all these other prospects to the point we have to take him.
That's why I think most are more in favor of taking a point guard as we have been searching for one for over a half decade since losing Derrick Rose and the 2021 draft lacks point guards. If we're going to add a point guard, now is the time to do it and we have plenty of options such as LeMelo dropping, or picking Hayes/Haliburton or acquiring Kira Lewis Jr later in the draft.
We should be drafting BPA but the problem is it's really unclear on who the BPA available is outside of LaMelo/Edwards. Why we may need to draft on positional need if nobody stands out leading up to the draft. Going after say Hayes or Deni who are guaranteed to get plenty of playing time and attention.
