I like the potential of Cassius Stanley from Duke alot with our 2nd pick. Would take a trade up though JMO.

See alot of Gary Trent Jr. in his game which has translated well with the Blazers.

Solid defensively and good athlete. Moves well and explosive jumper. Could learn to D up. Good IQ off ball but nothing great. Strong and holds his position.

Offensively his shot looks really good. Not much off the dribble but catch and shoot big potential. Spaces the floor and gets open for 3s. Can really score with the ball in his hands. Lots of secondary moves. Can really finish with authority and lob threat. Plays hard and with an edge. Has PNR potential with his handle.

He's super old for a freshman but I still see lots of growth potential. Maybe a Jordan Clarkson type scorer.

Yeah, I don't think that's the player comparison I would make. One's a shooter/scorer with deep range, and the other is an athletic freak who has a lot of work to do in the shooting department.

He can stroke it for sure.... I love his Ast%...That speaks to his IQ.

It's just that Nesmith has a terrific physical profile. If he improves his individual defense (already a competent team defender) and his offensive awareness, he's could be really be something.
I'm not even mentioning his handles because I feel that would be unrealistic. I mean, a 52% 3pt shooter on high volume with great handles would easily be a top3 pick in this draft.

After doing more research, I’m starting to warm up to Haliburton. I’m still skeptical about his skinny frame and odd shooting mechanics, but he impact the game in many ways. His potential may not be as high as some of the top prospects, but he does have a high floor.

Agreed. Trent is more of a 3D shooter. Stanley more of a two way type scorer.

What I see similar is their size, build, and athleticism for defense. Both 6’6 and strong. Move their feet well. Versatile defenders. Offensively Stanley has a lot more potential on ball.

I mentioned Jordan Clarkson. Slasher scorer that can still shoot the 3. Obviously more 3s later in his career as the game has changed.

I see them both more as hybrid wings at 6’6.

Their defense is very similar.

Stanley’s athleticism flashes way more on offense and def in the open court.
