Smart and Kemba probably.
Biggest question is, who is Herro going to guard? Him and Duncan will get lit up like a Christmas tree on pretty much anybody we have.
Semi Ojeleye would like a word with you.
Hopefully, Celtics get by Toronto in 6.
Assuming that, Duncan may be lit up a bit but from I have seen Herro will have little problem defending several Celtics players in the halfcourt at least.
Take Smart and even Brown. If Herro is guarding them will Stevens want to try to live and die with those 2 players going 1 on 1 against Herro? Maybe Brown but Miami has a reasonable last line of defense.
Smart/Brown were drafted as high as they were because of their defense.
Walker was obviously drafted for his offense and he is an excellent offensive player but unlike Kyrie Irving, Walker doesn't try to score 30 points every game. He is happy scoring mostly n the flow of the game.
That being said, I don't think Miami has anyone including Jimmy Butler that the Celtics can't defend reasonably well so it will be a question of how well Boston stops Miami in executing its offense. They have enough shooters/athleticism to go alongside Jimmy Butler that they are hard to defend because of their teamwork. But unlike the last time when Butler faced the Celtics in the playoffs, this time he has a stronger/healthier supporting cast.
What will be kind of interesting to know is whether relatively speaking Steven prioritizes defending Dragic or Herro more. Butler will be Celtics #1 target but when both Dragic/Herro in the game, I could see Stevens prioritizing Herro with a better perimeter defender and just hoping a big is enough to discourage some of Dragic's drives to the basket.
