Probably for the best. Why should Jets’ fans be suckered into buying tickets for this team. Over 50 years since we’ve been to a SB.

This is probably the kids of death but Darnold. Though he has little for targets this season.

D'Arnold is clearly the more talented QB.
And Joe Douglas has definitely spent a lot of effort to try and protect the guy (a big problem since they drafted D'Arnold) by revamping and upgrading the OL.
They still need to give DArnold some targets but I feel better about Douglas leading the front office than just about anyone else they've had in decades (kinda like the Knicks).
And contrary to popular belief, it's not like the Giants have been all that great either in recent years. The Jets have actually won 4 more games the last 3 seasons than the Giants.
No, the Jets don't really have a stellar receiving corps for D'Arnold but it's not like the Giants have a top shelf receiving corps either (I'd rather have Breshad Perriman as my no.1 receiver than Sterling Sheppard if I was a QB).
The Giants have Saquon and he's obviously more talented than anything the Jets can muster (unless Bell finds the Fountain of Former Productivity...unlikely with Gase as the head coach) but still...Barkley been's kinda injury prone so far.
So I'll go with D'Arnold. And this is coming from someone that would live to see Trevor Lawrence in a Jets uniform.

The Jets O-Line sounds like it's been working into a good place to start gelling, but the practice scrimmage did not go well.
Their WR corps was depleted throughout camp and it was already the biggest weakness on the damned team.
But on the good side:
Herndon and Darnold have natural chemistry that should be on display fast.
The depleted WR's forced Gase to unleash Leveon Bell as a receiver and I'm praying that he finally figured out the versatility Bell affords him.
And imo, Darnold is just a better QB prospect. Kid has been pretty solid despite being incredibly young, having no O-line protection and having mediocre receiver options. He's a year older and the O-line has way more talent than prior, so two of those have improved.
I think Sam is recognized as the better QB by the end of the season, though a tough schedule and WR's that can't get great separation are still worrisome.

D'Arnold is clearly the more talented QB.
Clearly is a strong word. Considering Jones' O-Line was at least as bad as Darnold's in 2019. And considering Tate, Engram, Barkley, and Sheppard all missed time, it is pretty impressive he threw more TD's and fewer picks than Darnold as a rookie. I do concede his fumbles are a problem, but he showed off better arm talent than Darnold did. In the same number of games.
And contrary to popular belief, it's not like the Giants have been all that great either in recent years. The Jets have actually won 4 more games the last 3 seasons than the Giants.
Who lied to your face and told you the Giants have been good? They have been bad for a few years now. Even with that Playoff appearance with OBJ and Co going to the Boat.
No, the Jets don't really have a stellar receiving corps for D'Arnold but it's not like the Giants have a top shelf receiving corps either (I'd rather have Breshad Perriman as my no.1 receiver than Sterling Sheppard if I was a QB).
Sheppard isn't the number 1 per se. The top target is def Barkley/Engram in our offense. Darius Slayton will probably get the most touches on the outside as well. The slot will be Sheppard and maybe sometimes Tate, but Tate will likely be taking reps on the outside. This corps is better than anything the Jets will hope to put out this year.
So I'll go with D'Arnold. And this is coming from someone that would live to see Trevor Lawrence in a Jets uniform.[/quote]
I'll lean with Jones, who will likely pilot the more successful offense this year.

Re: OT- Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold? Who will have the better year?
Even though the whole point of the topic is to get people to join the picks, I will say this since it’s on the Knicks board. Darnold is the same age as the first pick this year, came out as a project and the Jets haven’t done him any favors in terms of developing him. Now entering the third year, we finally attempted to build an offensive line, that weapons are still pedestrian around him however.
Goes to show how this mentality that fans have just doesn’t apply to prospects on the Knicks.

Re: OT- Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold? Who will have the better year?
I like Darnold a lot but Jets are setting him up to fail with that coach and the pieces they put around him. Jones on the other hand has much better talent around him and just needs to address the fumbling thing which I think he'll probably figure out as most QB's are able to overcome that issue.
PS: I meant to add that Darnold is probably the more polished QB in the traditional sense but Jones is definitely more naturally talented. Jones is the more mobile guy and seems to have better natural arm strength. It's hard to say who is or will be better because there are a lot of variables there and they are still puppies. I do think that the Giants are a better org top to bottom than the jets even taking into consideration that Giants have been a very bad team in recent years. I voted Jones because he has better variables around him and therefore has a better shot to succeed in my opinion.

Re: OT- Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold? Who will have the better year?
Well after 3 weeks...
In terms of passing rating among starting QB's, Darnold is ranked 30th at 70.7 and Jones is ranked 31st at 69.2. Only starting QB that has a worse QB rating is Carson Wentz of the Eagles at 63.9.
Jets have been hit with injuries left and right to their offensive roster (OL, WR and RB) and are currently using taxi squad players as starters at multiple positions.
At this point you can argue that neither guy looks like franchise QB's and that both teams may soon be looking with googly eyes at Trevor Lawrence. But then again, even a guy like Lawrence will likely struggle on these crap NY teams.
