I'll have you know, good sir, that there is no point in this season that I would have dared to say that Siakam was having a better season than Tatum. Statistically, they essentially put up the same numbers, with Tatum getting a slight nod in scoring efficiency. Then when you watch the games, it's clear that Tatum is a far greater focal point of the offense, and receives much more defensive attention than Siakam. Even if we ignore how bad Siakam was in the playoffs, it's incredibly fair to argue Tatum deserves to be above him in the all-nba teams.
I mean, other than the fact Siakam was having a better season Statistically on a better (regular season) team by far up until around February when Tatum went 31-7-3 on 64TS%.
This is all pre bubble to, where Tatum improves his stats and Siakam dropped his.
Let’s not use recency bias because it appears people have forgot how good Siakam was pre Orlando.

Why are you trying to trigger half the forum? Doncic absolutely deservers first team, only Kawhi could really challenge him. And Siakam 2nd team is a travesty. And i'm not just saying because of his bad playoffs, but he was just far less efficient and effective than last year, just jacked up more shots. He is not a top 10 NBA player.
Doncic has great stats, but I just didn't think he was a top 5 nba player this year. I think CP3 was better. I would have out Doncic second team. I think people get enamored too much by the triple-doubles.

I got killed earlier for saying I had Dame over Luka so I too think he belonged on the 2nd and not 1st. But my guess is his spot is less about triple-doubles and more about that elite Mavs offense.

Embiid injured all the time. They based it on performance pre NBA shut down in March. He missed like 20 of the first 65 games. He’s great player but didn’t deserve anything this year. And I’m a huge Embiid fan. He is great but he’s not great every night. You get him playing great every 3rd game and that’s not good enough.

So Russ average 8 more points, 3 more rebounds, almost the same assists AND was more efficient than lowry
No competition.
Field goal percentage is garbage, and you completely ignore defence.
Lowry is better than Westbrook. It’s just a fact and has been for many years. Most underrated player vs the most overrated.
Is Lowry was a rocket they’d possibly still be in the playoffs imo
They’d never trade him, but Lowry should be a Houston target for sure for a one year run

He averaged 23/7/3.5 on 45% FG and 36% 3pt, PER 17.9
Tatum averaged 23/7/3 on 45% FG and 40% 3pt, PER 20.4

That explains why Siakam made second team, though I think Tatum was better during the pre bubble season as well.
Tatum was better after 2020 rolled in. Those first couple months, Siakam was playing better. It's probably a toss up because of that, but Tatum was so much better in 2020 that it's hard to say it's equal.

Joel was bad this season by his standards. Very inconsistent. A 6th seed isn't going to get more than one All NBA player and Simmons had the better year.

Of course. But ADs defense isn't enough to put him over Jokic. The impact and gravity Jokic brings on offense is just too much. AD has a career history of being a fairly ineffective lead guy. He's perfect on the Lakers as a 2nd option.

Siakam benefits also. They both get starting salaries worth 28% of the 2020/21 salary cap, rather than 25%.

Keep in mind these were voted on pre-bubble.
Would likely look a bit different if they only voted on it now.

Skipped the first 3 months of the season I'm guessing? He looked way better up until the all-star game, but Tatum has looked much better since.

Okay based on this. Serious question. Are they so lazy and uncaring that they just submitted these lineups after the first month and then checked out for the rest of the year?
Because honestly, that at the moment is the only thing that lines up with these votes.
Both Siakam and Westbrook had a hot first month or so.
