I don't think I can put Zion in my top 5. He honestly just looks like a better scoring Julius Randle.
He's another one of those guys who were supposed to be great defensively coming out of college and has completely disappeared on that end in the league. He might just be another KAT if he doesn't lose weight and play better d

KAT is a monster offensively his team has just sucked for a long time. Similar to KP and AD his franchise has failed to properly build around him.
he is a monster offensively a Jokic defense is a liability as well. I think Jokic ability to be a playmaker is just so far an beyond any big that it makes up for his lack of defense. KAT is not a bad passer but he's also no Joker.
Jokic passing doesnt make up for his terrible defense. He's far worse than KAT defensively

im not sure about that. Jokic and KAT seem equally atrocious defensively.

When he does he will be the most unstoppable PNR player in the NBA imo. As a roll man, with his speed, strength, explosiveness, ability to finish and also the vision to pass to open shooters, he’ll be absolutely scary if you give him a guard who can pull up from three. I think the defense will come around.
It’s just a bummer he plays in New Orleans for a franchise with 0 history and a non-existent fanbase. He needs to get out of there quick. New Orleans killed the hype.

Had a hell of an impact when he was out there, and he was still a teenager until the bubble started
Long term issues will be if he can manage his weight and stay healthy, but he is a great player already.
New Orleans is 30 points per 100 possessions worse on defense in the bubble when Williamson has played. Teams score better than the Stephen Curry-Kevin Durant Warriors when he's out there.

Oh wait, there' plenty of proof where that gets you. Since thats pretty much what we've been doing in prior years

There’s a visual experience to Luka’s game where you get mesmerized by the esthetic. He’s a great young player regardless.
But I think in terms of raw impact - with his gravity in the P&R, his base scoring efficiency which is absurd, and the potential on defense - Zion will blow Luka out the water.
The NBA isn’t ready for an in-shape Zion. The only question is will he ever get in shape.

Stats I posted included bubble games
So that's how great he was in the 19 games before the bubble that they were still top 10 on both ends even with how bad he was for 5 games at the end
Won't know til next year though.

I think he regressed heavily in the bubble. Let’s hope he gets it together. I think he’s fun to watch when he’s at his best

He came into the bubble looking like E40
But yeah he can me electric and he's truly a unique player but there are significant concerns about him that would make me cautious about building around him. There have been doctors that have said his career won't last long if he continues playing at his weight. He is way too reliant on athleticism that one bad injury could end his career.
So Zion is important and not just for the sake of the New Orleans Pelicans. The big question hanging over the league is whether he’s capable of shouldering it all. Dr. Brian Sutterer, of sports injury YouTube fame, has been watching intently and has his concerns. “He’s in a race against his own body,” Dr. Sutterer said over the phone. “If you go watch his Duke highlights compared to now, the difference is profound. In my opinion, his athleticism and conditioning have regressed substantially. He’s less explosive, less conditioned, slower on defense, has already had a portion of his meniscus removed from his knee after an injury, and he’s still under close monitoring from the medical staff.”
Through all the immediate Twitter buzz over Zion’s run, Dr. Sutterer sees a troubling long term trend. “I feel like nobody really wants to call it like we all see it,” Dr. Sutterer said. “He’s trying to reverse a career trajectory that by the Pelicans’ own admission is worrisome as evidenced by his ‘reprogramming’ and scrutinized minutes. He had four months to start making positive strides and to me he’s regressed more. When will he finally start to reverse course? Will it be in time before more substantial fitness concerns and injuries limit him and threaten his career? Instead of outpacing these risks, I’m worried that Zion is losing the race.”
