I'm not all that opposed to this even if Kemba is healthy. It's unconventional but it's a definite talent upgrade. CP3 played next to Schroeder all year so it's not like he couldn't play next to Kemba. That has limitations for sure but are there really that many teams where it can't work?
Against PHI Kemba can guard Shake and I trust CP3 on JRich
Against MIL you have Kemba on Bledsoe and CP3 on Wes Matthews
Against MIA CP3 on Dragic and Kemba on Robinson
TOR plays with 2 PGs so it's not an issue
I'm fine with CP3 on Oladipo if we play IND.
I know it's undersized but I don't see too many of these mammoth SGs to worry about. I know we're giving up size but I don't think we're severely overmatched in any matchup really. The issue is it gives us a second small guy for teams to attack in switches but you can scheme for that.
Hayward for CP3 would just be taking advantage of a team willing to give us a big talent upgrade for money reasons. And CP3's deal would expire before repeater rates anyway.
Other big advantage of this: CP3 is great friends with PJ Tucker. We should be doing EVERYTHING in our power to sign him this offseason. He would be perfect here
Paying around 75M on aging PG’s is not a good idea. Also PJ Tucker is not a FA.
