Blame your GM for NOT trying rather than Lakers for trying

This season it means 5 mil more before luxury tax implications set in.
Next summer, Lakers will have 5 mil more in pure cap space. If the cap projections remained the same (125 mil cap), the Lakers would have roughly 35.8 million instead of 30.8 million.
Not all that far off of the 30% of the cap for 7-9 year vets such as Giannis (37.5 mil).

Or all those “championships*” the Celtics won in the 60s against a Mickey Mouse League haha. That’s probably the biggest laugh.
Keep living off the past though.

See Messi trying to opt out as well.
Also, the thread title says it's saving the Lakers 5 mil per year.
It should really specify it saves the Lakers 5 mil in cap per year, Lakers will still be paying Deng. It just won't be on the cap if this succeeds

The cost of being coached by Thibs in your peak years. Of that Bulls star core, only one who survived intact was Butler (tho he was injured alot in Bulls years).UcanUwill wrote:Luol Deng is younger than LeBron James, isnt that something

They can't. This would open an insane can of worms for stretched and bought out bums.

Does that include an extension for AD? I guess it depends on how many years he signs for.
The extra 5 million this year could allow them to pay a bit more to someone like Rondo if he'd take a one year deal.
