I think the management just showed that they are not afraid to invest and that they want chips!
If these guys don't hold our players accountable, I don't know who will!

He'll work the fringes and probably grow and defer the second round fruit tree but I think the objective will be to be patient on any Horford deal to the deadline and even try to pump and dump Tobias if he can get anywhere near his Clipper version. A lot of long term things to like about Morey but the short term benefit should be that he won't make a shortsighted panic move to get off either one of them before the season starts.

We're fortunate that two high level candidates were available when we desperately needed them, and that ownership *will* spend money. Money is and hasn't been an issue (and never should be, given what these guys paid for the team and what the valuations are now).
But that doesn't excuse Harris & Blitzer for letting themselves get pressured by the league to force the Hinkie resignation. Or force the Okafor pick. Or turning the team over to the Colangelos when we all knew that was a mistake. Or giving Elton the green light to sign Harris and Horford to albatross contracts.
If we're to believe our insider, ownership meddles in basketball decisions far more than they have any right to. Hopefully that changes with the talent they've brought in this fall. I trust Morey & Brand and Doc to make the difficult and correct decisions.

Real life NBA executives, real life NBA scouts, ex-NBA players, most of the media outlets that covered the NBA, the biggest Sports media Analytics like 538 and ESPN, and even our own board have believed that (prior to hindsight bias). We are better than most contenders when it comes to top end talent.
While the ownership has never been just satisfied to make the playoffs unlike 90% of the teams in the league, since day 1. And are willing to lose money (tanking seasons) and spend money (highest payroll in the league) just to win the championship.
This is the biggest reason why Doc River and Morey decided to sign with us, given their experiences with bad owners like Sterling and Tilman.
Im not saying they are perfect or maybe even great. But they are better than most of the owners in the league.
You don’t agree with me. Then let’s just agree to disagree.
