Is this guy the most agile and fluid big in the draft? The way he moves for someone who is 6'10" without shoes is very impressive. To me anyway.

Precious might be more agile, but I think I like Nnaji more since he has more “big” in his game — looks more like an NBA 4/5 whereas Precious may be more 3/4.

If Nnaji’s not going to last until 26 I’d be okay with a 26+30 trade up to get him (or Jalen Smith, who I like just as much). Of course, I also like Oturo quite a bit — hope our FO is able to get some good insight despite this year’s limitations!

I am much more shoot for the stars be it Nesmith or hampton (who i do not like and do not want us to draft) or even a J smith or Achiwu vs a Bey or Williams type, I am sure both those guys will be solid NBA players but Jae Crowders are not what win titles, you can find Jae Crowders. Give me a guy with something unique, Nesmith's shooting, Achiwu's athleticism Smith's versatility. If you want a 3 and D guy package 26 and 47 to move up 3 or 4 spots there will be 3 and D guys at 23.

I am with you. The high upside guys that might be available at 14, to me, seem like Kira Lewis and Achiuwa. Maybe put Jalen Smith in there, too. I want to swing for the upside, too. You can get role players later.

How does everyone feel about Cole Anthony or RJ Hampton at 14 as upside picks? I feel like in that range, those are the two guys with true upside to be a lead guard, with Maxey/Terry/Lewis as honorable mentions.

I feel lousy about them, but also certain that we’re drafting Anthony if he’s there.

The Celtics need size and shooting. Anthony and Hampton provide neither. There's a real likelihood that neither one of them turns out to be better than Brad Wanamaker was last year.

Size doesn't have to be addressed in the draft especially in a draft that is guard-heavy. Outside of a trade up for Okongwu, there is no big available at 14 that would be worth the cost. You can always address the size issue through free agency or in the trade market

Also, Cole Anthony shot 41% on catch and shoot 3s, a lot of them off of movement too. Tyrell Terry's one of the best shooters in the draft.

Also, I think what we truly "need" is a prospect with legit upside more than any team specific needs given that this is our last lottery pick we have unless we somehow trade our core players for more picks.

I’d be fine with either Precious or Smith at 14. This team already has a upside wing with a questionable shot in Langford.

holy smokes that's a terrible take. Hampton is a huge PG. Even Anthony is bigger than Kemba. Wanamaker is garbage tier. Yes, you just claimed two first rounders won't ever be better than Wanamaker. Yikes.

Maybe they will be better than Wanamaker eventually, but not next year. And "big point guards" don't constitute size. Can either of them guard Bam Adebayo or Joel Embiid?

The Celtics aren't rebuilding. They are a top 4 team in the NBA, and with a healthy Hayward (he was obviously not 100% against the Heat in the bubble) they may have been a top two team. I'm not interested in projects. I want players who can win now. Guys like Cole Anthony are perfect for teams like Charlette, where they can step in right away and run the show. We don't need to expend #14 on a third point guard behind Kemba and Smart. If either one of those guys were a top 5 talent that slips to #14, fine. But they are not.

And you think Precious or Smith can guard Embiid or Adebayo?

Any big we draft is likely gonna be our third big much like any guard we draft will be our third guard. Really don't get this idea that whatever big we draft is going to be an immediate contributor while any upside guard won't. Bigs generally take longer to contribute to a winning team.

Bey or Nesmith could provide second unit scoring. Obi Toppin took awhile to get going but he looks to have a decent all-around game and he may slip due to his age.

As for the bigs, who knows? From the film I've watched, Okongwu is pretty good defensively, but he will go somewhere in the top 10. The others are all too skinny. That's why I'd be looking at a guy like Isaiah Stewart with a late first rounder. His offensive shills are purely back to the basket but he runs the floor and makes his free throws, which may bode well for his ability to develop an outside shot.

I also like Leandro Bolmaro as a draft and stash candidate with a late first rounder. He can's shoot at all, but he defends and has point guard skills at 6-7. Sort of an Evan Turner type and only 19 years old.

Obi Toppin couldn't guard Tacko Fall 94 feet from the basket.

Why would anyone want to? But yes, the consensus is that he needs to work on his defense.

my 2nd must have conclusion is consolidating a trade up. my 1st choice is keep 14 and trade 26+30 back into the teens and grab any 2 of (Precious-P Williams-S Bey-Nesmith) . My reasoning is that all 4 players have the ability to step in early far better than anyone later in the draft at 26-30 under slow developing Brad Stevens based on draft history.

my 2nd choice is trade 14+26 to get a slipping talent like (Okongwu Wiseman)

then I would try and combine 30+47 to move up (mid twenties) and nab any player Ainge falls in love with.

Give me 2 high upside, yet ready to step in talents. Not 4 projects.

technically I don't believe there is a player in the NBA that can guard Embiid (maybe AD) anyway. Bam really only killed us on Lobs. But Precious has enough size and quickness with his defensive versatility to switch on all kinds of positions. J Smith isn't that far behind in that category as well/ But I would rather a stronger faster P Williams in that equation as well.

If we trade up, I'd love Haliburton or Vassel. If we stay put, Precious, Jalen or Tyrell Terry.

Just pls Danny no tweeners or undersized fatties at pf high in the draft.

Just put a body on Embiid to keep him from getting to his spot. After awhile he will draft outside and start jacking threes. Embiid is lazy. He's not Shaq. If he were unguardable the Sixers would have gone alot further in the playoffs. Frankly I'll be surprised if Embiid is a Sixer much longer now that Darryl Morey is in the house.

I though Baynes did a decent job on him. But some stringbean has no chance. You need bulk.

RJ Hampton reminds me too much of Dante Exum for my liking but I would still be okay with him. On the other hand, I want the Celtics stay away from Cole Anthony. He is a **** Austin Rivers. Not a bad role player but you get the feeling he thinks he is a way better player than he actually is.
