It's going to be tough for him to be consistent and take too long to get his shots off until he fixes that.
The top part of his shot is actually pretty good mechanically, elbow and wrist are straight, angle is good, and uses the right amount of wrist versus pushing the ball with the arm. His touch is average though.
It's going to be a real struggle for him to ever hit 35% from deep.
He does have excellent strength in his lower body and should be able to finish at an above average level.
Is the athleticism going to play against NBA level athletes?
I still prefer Wiseman, but I like him better than Ball.
If we end up with him in a trade down it wouldnt be the end of the world.
I was listening to Darren Wolfson’s recent pod with Babcock and Windhorst and they made it sound like Wiseman and his camp aren’t interested in interacting with Minnesota due to KAT being here.
That's an absolute non-factor for me. It's understandable, both GS and Charlotte are much better situations for him. We have to take the top talent regardless, and that pro day tape solidified for me that Wiseman is head and shoulders above the rest. All we got with Lamelo was a sit down interview anyway. Curry wouldnt work out here either and we ended up with Jonny Flynn.
I'm of the opinion that we need to start looking down the road past KAT. All of the early warning signs are there, this is going to turn into another Kevin Love situation, probably whether we win or not.
KAT has 4 years left on his deal, including this upcoming season. So at age 28 to 29, he could be eligible for super max.
If the Wolves draft Wiseman, he will also be coming off his rookie contract around the same time.
Question is will they be able to give Wiseman enough minutes to see if he can replace KAT in case he walks when he's a UFA?
One of them would have to play the 4 so that both of them would be on the floor at the same time for Wiseman to get about 30 minutes a game, to see what he would do as a full time starter.
