no matter what happens, the Hayward acquisition was the right call. If you were to put Brad's system and what it needs into a computer, Hayward is among the first players in the entire league it'd spit out. High BBIQ, great handle, under control, good passer, solid defender, and can score on all three levels. When we got him he was putting up great numbers and was an ascending player. Before the injury he was an above the rim type athlete. He literally got injured on an alley oop. Those types of athletes who are also great at so many other things can be counted on less than two hands. The injury and the likely psychological impact more than physical, has completely negated the above the rim athlete he used to be. Minor injuries have kept him off the court and he's a 1a or 1b guy that the offense should flow through but because of Tatum and Kemba he's relegated to the 3rd playmaker and 4th in the shot pecking order. He makes too much to be filling that role. It's not his fault. It's not ours. It's just what is. Hopefully he can move on to somewhere he fits better and we still get some form of compensation via sign and trade but he can't control that like people think he does and he doesn't owe us anything.
