The point is that they are redundant, and neither is the air craft carrier which is needed.
I like Okungwu, so this is not hate from my part.
Okongwu would be nice because he prolly could give the Warriors what maybe 30 mins a night? I'd take even 25 mins. He should be able to give Draymond a rest and prolong his career. I'm not as sure about Toppin who would be more focused on offense. I suppose both would be the backup choice in case of trade down with the Hornets or Bulls. I like Okongwu in this case for his experience and defense. If the Ws stay at #2 and draft James Wiseman, then I think he most likely does around 20 mins per night coming off the bench.
Looney and Chris were not getting 30 minutes a game, I doubt a rookie Okongwu is going to come in and ball like that. At 6'9'' I just do not think he is big enough to be on the floor that much.
My point is the Warriors have to get their C of the near future somewhere. Let's say the Warriors get a trade down for a vet PG or backup PF/wing instead of Myles Turner. Then drafting Okongwu or Toppin is realistic to play more minutes than Wiseman; Wiseman has the size and upside, but may only give you about 20 mins per game. He'll likely be gone by the top 3.
Another realistic deal is with the Bulls for WCJ as he can provide around 30 mins a night. The Warriors can do that deal and pick Okoro at #4. If they don't get a legit C in a trade down and the draft, then they're left with FA. I think one can do the latter if they have a commitment from players like Dwight, but the Warriors don't have that.
