Donovan Mitchell is 216 pounds at 24 years of age. Anthony Edwards is 225 and an inch taller. It would be Mitchell on steroids. Now that's not saying he will be DMitch, people worried whats between Edwards ears, but you hired Thibs and development staff so if you believe they are that good. You prove it and trade for Edwards. I would even trade RJ for Edwards. People don't want to face it RJ is good but he's at best a 2nd or 3rd option. We need players with the potential to be all stars.
Excuse me but did he move around the same way DMitch did during his workouts? If memory serves me, DMitch was a beast during workouts. I don't give a damn if you are jacked and taller when your slower and running out of breath on you own while being shown up by a kid that's going to be picked in the mid to back end of the draft. I trust my eyes more than just numbers. The guy doesnt have it in him. You WANT him to be that but he didn't show out in Georgia and his didnt show out in his show case. All he did was jack up shots to pad his stats. For a top three pick he has horrible efficiency. You are what you repeatedly do.
I also agree with you. It's a risk. But I'll ask you the same question I asked earlier. In 5 years who has more potential to be a multiple Allstar? Mitch or Edwards?
Based on what we have seen? Mitch. He came in and took things over when everyone thought he needed more development leading into the draft. He cam in locked in, every team he tried out for said he had amazing workouts, and he took his development to heart from the start and that's why he made so much noise the moment he stepped onto the court. Maybe he proves me wrong but there is nothing that he has shown me to prove me otherwise. Ask yourself this....IF he was focused and had desire like a true top pick would have, would there be any doubt on who the #1 overall pick would be? He came in with a lot of hype but he really let it all slip through his fingers which is why he is projected to go #3 instead of #1
