For this team, I think I'd rather have Smart and a lottery pick than either of Jrue and Turner.
We as fans need to look at this as a GM not with a punchdrunk head from making the Conference Finals where we avoided a MIL team.
We did just lose to the Heat who were the 5th seed and...

Guys... our guys are 2-3 years away from entering our prime. Everything we do should be in mind of making our run 2-3 years from now. Not now. Not today.
Unless again you're trading for an MVP guy like a Harden.

Nope. He's an average starting C that people think shoots like KAT and defends like AD. Trade scenarios for the past 3-4 years with this guy and he's like OK.

There are other factors to consider going forward, but Oladipo has been discussed often, including in several three-team deals along with Myles Turner, league sources tell IndyStar.
There still are incoming calls to find out his availability.
Myles Turner had been resigned to playing on another team going into the offseason according to league sources with knowledge of the situation. The interest in him around the league remains extremely high, including Boston and Charlotte, but the most recent interactions he has had with the Pacers suggest he could stay put.

Many analyst also don't believe he's a good defender either as he plays drop coverage which is fine in the regular season by all last playoffs Centers that do that got eaten alive. Like Embiid and Gobert.
I wouldn't be surprised if Turner contributes less than Smart to a team and Smart is a 6th man on a championship team kind of player.
Then you factor in you can get Centers in the open market for 1/100th of their value and it's a terrible investment from an asset point of view.
Again though Hayward is an asset that has an expiration date that's pretty clear right now, so it's better than nothing.

Spin Move wrote:Turner is a better scorer and shot blocker and switcher on the PNR then Theis, Thies is a better rebounder. screener and post and team defender. Overall Turner is a little better then Thies, as far as value goes, Thies makes 1/3 as much as Turner, but is a FA after this season. They would play together, I think turner is a marginal upgrade over Theis, however he would be a good addition we are very thin up front.
