It's not like Houston has a ton of draft picks to rebuild that way and while I don't see a Harden-Irving-Durant trio as actual title contenders, their regular season records should be good enough to water down any FRP's they send along. Definitely would feel like the Barkley trade in a lot of ways.

Houston gave up multiple of their firsts and multiple pick swaps with okc for Westbrook. Trading harden for 3 nice but fairly average players all under short deals.
Houston would be in such a bad spot, pressure to not lose those players in free agency as well as none of their own picks because of Westbrook trade so bottoming out/ranking isn’t an option.

I've heard he's pissed Morey made him look like a moron by finessing out of his contract to "spend time with his kids", then coming here a week later.

Fertitta also made a comment about Morey "ending up on the East Coast". So I would bet he had at least an inkling of what was up.

That being said, I agree Fertitta will probably avoid trading Harden to the Sixers.

If the Sixers theoretically traded Horford for Westbrook straight up... they could immediately turn around and trade Westbrook somewhere else for a package, correct?

I believe so. You just couldn't combine Westbrook with anyone else in a trade until a few months later.

The nets trade is better for the owners pockets.

Not surprising. How are those three let alone just Kyrie and Harden going to share the ball and coexist?

Makes sense. Harden wouldn’t be good for Kyrie’s individual production, and Kyrie wanted out of a championship Lebron team for his own personal reasons.

Evan Fournier just exercised his option in Orlando. I'd be down to send JRich + Scott for him.

The second half of this list lmfaooooooo. Celtics media really hyping this up. I'm not sure it's better than Shake Milton, Zhaire Smith, Furkan Korkmaz, Marial Shayok.

**** BMM, man.

The TLC addition is hilarious.

Not trying to troll or anything but TLC was hitting his potential this season with the Nets. Especially, in the bubble. He had his legit breakout game vs Giannis. He looks like a legit first round pick now.

Credit, Will Weaver who was the G-League Nets coach and led them to the Finals with TLC, Musa and Kurucs. He just got the assistant job in Houston, ironically.

That's the classic TLC fools gold phenomenon where he's painfully average, but morphs into a Tatum lite for 3 games when he gets a chance at starting.

I like some of those players, esp Kurucs who was looking really promising after his rookie season, but no executive is sprinting to fax a James Harden deal through because of him, Taurean Prince and TLC lol

Fwiw he averaged 18 a night in April of his rookie year when Embiid and Simmons were out. When you’re on an ghost ship roster someone has to score points.

Either way it seems pretty silly to act like he has legit trade value for a team that would be presumably rebuilding in a trade for one of the best players in basketball. He’s gonna be 26 in May and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. If he has trade value then someone like Korkmaz probably has a decent amount more.

guys maybe we aren't offering Ben...and thus the Nets offer suddenly becomes viable.

like it or not but stars can pick where they go. The only reason Kawhii went to Toronto is because the Spurs...and Pop have cred. Houston and their broke boi owner does not...and even if we are offering Ben...my guess is that dude is looking to cut costs in a down year and probably flip the team via selling look at all the capspace and picks doe.

I will also always love how many of the same folks who think Ben is trash suddenly go "no one can beat that offer yo".

We could simply swap that for Nic Claxton, Kurucs or the 19th pick. Claxton would be a tough pill to swallow because he’s our best kept secret who didn’t make the bubble cause of surgery. We could also offer 4 2nd Rounders (that aren’t ours) to boost the Rockets lack of 2nds and send out multiple 1sts ontop of Dinwiddie/Levert/Allen.

I’m being realistic of how Marks might play this because quite frankly, he is very opportunistic. He’s likely looking to add a 3rd team involved as well.

The Sixers will no doubt make a swift offer because nobody wants to see a super team in their backyard and we get that. I’m still likely to believe Houstok won’t probably do this until next season or at the deadline.

I just can't understand why Houston is doing this. If it were Morey and his relationship with James... Maybe I would understand why they are letting him choose his destination while they take back horrible deals. But the new regime including the owner, should really look to trade him in a threeway possibly where they get actual assets from a lower level team. Or just trade James to a worse team for better value.

I'd be livid if I were their fans. I seriously think Tobias, who could be flipped later after you build up his value this drain on a losing team for other young assets for rebuild, plus Richardson (same), Shake, Thybulle, Zhaire, Kork, picks should be a better package. They can quickly flip Josh or give him the same treatment they'll need to do for Levert or Dinwiddie. Nobody wants Allen.

Take that Philly package, pair it with Westbrook to also flip him at the deadline for more value than available now. That works better than Russ with 2 guards.

But no way I don't trade him and his long term deal for the best possible package in the NBA. Brooklyn's isn't that, neither is the Philly one unless you add Ben. Houston wins that trade though easily. That's an overpay.

I will say I'm indifferent to the big 3 that it would give Brooklyn. Their offense was already going to be crazy. I wouldn't mind if they won, but it isn't a guaranteed title type situation. There is only 1 ball. While KD had been a plus defender here in Oakland (my local), after his injury I expect decline, and the other 2 are not. All 3 are head cases, and supposedly on some nights Kyrie will be coaching the team or some crap... Lol.
