Before this all started would you have signed up to get Holiday and Bogdonovic for 3 FRP's, Donte, Bledsoe, Hill, DJ Wilson and Irsan Ilyasova? Because in my mind your overpaid for Holiday but underpaid for Boddonovic.

And here's the thing, you need to assume Giannis was onboard, and if he resigns, they have next offseason to add a tax payer mid level player and first round pick (potential trade bait) to make this team 7-deep.

As it stands now - Holiday-Bogdonovic-Middleton-Giannis-Lopez is a damn good starting 5.

No, because the Holiday trade was BEYOND awful for us. We didn't just "overpay." What we did makes that word an understatement. Unprotected picks that far out plus pick swaps? Absolutely WOOF worthy.

You’re too late. They already traded those picks to Nola. If you wanted them, you’d have to have gotten in ahead of Nola, but you wouldn’t also get DDV, in all likelihood.

No. Those deals were obviously discussed at the same time, they were announced a couple hours apart. McNair just undersold. He had the opportunity to ask for a pick and should have made it a dealbreaker. Jrue gets 5 FRP’s and Bogi gets none? He lost on value, not a great way to start. But DDV is a nice piece so it’s not a total fail but yeah, NO way out negotiated McNair. Bucks must have been laughing, like “ok, we’ll give this giant pile of assets to NO and slice off one little piece for Sac and get the two guys we want!”

Jrue is good enough to be an all-star in the East. There are maybe 10 teams in the league Bogdan would start for.

There is a reason the vast majority of fans on the general board think the Kings lost this deal (yeah, I know...the general board, but still).

Because they look at points per game and say 'durr Bogdan is twice as good as DiVincenzo?' Or because they assume he's some up-and-coming youngster because he's only played 3 years in the NBA?

Have you watched much Bogi? This is a really good basketball player. Extremely well rounded guy, ice water in his veins in the clutch. He isn't on Jrue's level but he isn't four first round picks behind, that's for sure.

In Bogi the Bucks got a player that is a great fit for them, that finished out their starting lineup. They made Giannis happy and he'll likely sign the super max now. They got a great deal overall out of this. NO got 5 FRPs (including two unprotected way out in the future). The Kings got DDV. Who came up a little light here? Seems pretty obvious to me (and 80%+ of the general board).

Again, I like DDV. I see the appeal that McNair does. I have no issue with that, it's just he didn't negotiate hard enough and that is evidenced by how loopsided the Jrue deal was, that's NO negotiating hard. It just puts it in stark contrast and makes it more obvious that McNair cut bait here for some reason. Maybe he knows something about Wilson we don't. I hope so. Or maybe he has something lined up to flip Ersan. We'll see how it goes.

Donte and 12 to the Knicks for 8 might be intriguing for both sides

Rather keep Donte tbh.

I know some other Knicks fans liked Buddy + #12 for #8. Knicks could then flip Randle, Payton for Westbrook and have an interesting team.

Westbrook - Buddy - Barrett - #12 - Robinson

Wilson was looking like Milwaukee would pay a 2nd for someone to take him before this. He was definitely not viewed as a solid prospect at this point.

There was a time when I was younger that I knew even the obscure players but these days not so much. Never heard of him probably just salary filler.

He showed defensive flashes during the 18-19 campaign and looked like he may become a contributor. He was really bad during the 19-20 campaign. Has moments where he moves his feet really well on defense, soft on the glass, wildly inconsistent shooter from deep, great hype man on the bench.

Yes, I have. He's a generic 2 guard who's a good shooter, doesn't get to the free throw line, a below-average defender who's over his head trying to switch onto most 1s or 3s, and a decent ball handler but not someone you'd want running the offense. That's kind of the thing about players like that; when you really watch a lot of them, you see that the 1-6 from three, get abused on defense games tend to outnumber the 20+ points with clutch baskets ones.

Is he much better (if at all) than Evan Fournier or over-the-hill JJ Redick, both of whom are on cheaper expiring contracts? No. I'd assume he'll be worse this coming season than someone like Tyler Herro, who was a bench player/5th starter on a good team and was a net negative in the postseason due to his defense. If you go through all the teams in the league, it's hard to find too many other places where Bogdan would be a significant upgrade to the starting lineup. Even some of the teams that figure to be tanking have guys like SGA, Kennard, and Sexton at that position.

Going mostly unremarked is that we were all wondering how COVID was going to affect the FA market this year.

Well, if this is legit, we've just seen our first FA signing, and he got paid. Yes, Milwaukee's level of desire was unusual. Other agents are still going to use this to set the market.
