And if this is the move that puts a banner in the rafters and ensures Giannis signs an extension?

I’m simply stating the huge risk factor by MIL. Rare in today’s NBA of player empowerment. If Giannis signs the Super-max, Jrue is the big difference maker, & they win multiple titles...
Jon Horst > Jerry Krause.

I honestly believe the Nets & Bucks found themselves in a bidding war for the Eastern conference crown & the Pels completely repped the rewards.

I don't think Luka is even the best draft day swap the Mavs have made. I would rather be the Hawks getting Young(and Cam Reddish) for Luka, then the Bucks who got Robert Traylor for Nowitzki. I'm also guessing the Hawks don't even feel as bad as the Hornets who got Vlade for Kobe.

The big difference is we knew Luka was going to be a star (well not everyone, but enough people were screaming it at the top of their lungs that there is no excuse) whereas with Dirk, Dallas had gone to great lengths to hide him from the league--now Pitino insists he was taking him at 10 or one spot below where he was taken, but interest in Dirk was minimal--as he fell to 9, and nobody had any idea he was going to become what he did. Intrigued by his potential obviously, but that one's much harder to fault the Bucks on.

What 3 teams did in 2018 was malpractice considering again what lots of really smart people were saying about Luka prior to the draft.

Honestly this trade would make Billy King blush. I can't believe 1st in this league team did this insanity.

Holiday is such a good second star that the Pelicans couldn't even make the playoffs consistently with Davis

For sure. Given we spent decades chasing 9th seeds, I'm good going bold. As a life long fan, if Giannis were to leave, I think I would take a long break from the NBA. I think the moves yesterday ensure he sticks around for at least another 5 years, and no draft pick(s) have more value than that from my perspective.

No, he's not. He's a lateral move.

For regular season stats is pretty much lateral other then Holiday shoots a few more threes. Playoff vanishing Bledsoe isn't as close as playoff Holiday. Also if Giannis signs the max. Them pick swaps probably wont happen long as Giannis and Middleton stay healthy. Swaps only sounds good to Pelicans if Giannis and Holiday bolt.

As for the 3 first round picks. Any news if any protections at all? Still if Giannis is in Milwaukee and healthy team, them picks are late 20's. Besides one being used in this weak draft selected by the Bucks to get away from the Stepien rule.

This isn't as bad as what Clippers gave up for burned out PG13. PG13 was worthless in the playoffs. Yet gave up all them picks and SGA and Gallinari.

I get that Jrue is a better playoff performer than Bledsoe, but lack of homecourt advantage and the injury to Giannis played a bigger part in the loss to Miami than what any other one player did. If Giannis comes back better they'd be the favorites to make it out of the East even if they ran it back with the same team. This was just throwing a bunch of draft picks around because they had to make a big move just for the sake of it. The picks and swaps aren't coming into play until Holiday and Middleton are 33/34 years old, so in any season where Giannis happens to miss a few weeks with a random injury that's going to be a better pick than the late 20s. I'm sure there hasn't been any team this century other than the Spurs that had one of the 5 best regular season records every single year for however long you expect the Bucks to keep doing it.

One thing that is being understated, we just added two guys that provide a lot of what our roster was missing come playoff time. Other than Middleton, we had 3-4 guys just standing around when teams were throwing a 4 guy wall at Giannis. This fills a massive deficiency with this team. Plus will be interesting to see both these guys operate with the gravity Giannis has, should be fun.

I’m a life long Bulls fan & truly hope Giannis stays in MIL! I live in IL but love visiting MIL more than visiting CHI. I have tailgated multiple Brewers games & been to multiple Bulls/Bucks games in MIL. The downtown area is awesome... Before the Giannis era, majority of the fans in the Bradley Center would be wearing Red & Black. True Bucks fans deserve a championship!

Seems highly likely that unless Jrue hates money he is one of the worst contracts in the league once he resigns

I don't understand how the vote is this close. This is one of the most cartoonishly bad trades I've seen since I've been a serious fan (since 2012). Bledsoe and Hill aren't as good as Jrue, but they aren't chumps, and you throw in 3 effing first rounders and 2 swaps on top of that? It's lunacy. Look at what valuable role players go for and tell me they couldn't have put the mountain of draft capital they gave up to better use.

This whole "this is the move that gets Giannis to re-sign" is stupid too. He may re-sign, but it won't be because of this move. Why would shipping out every single trading asset you have for a medium PG upgrade make him more likely to stay? There are no improvements left for the team to make. They're going to have to make it work with minimum contracts from here out, with no picks, and Giannis knows that.

As a life long bucks fan. I was ok with this trade and since we traded for bogdanovic, this is now a great trade.

The Bench will need some work, but this move and bogdanovic make the Bucks have the best starting 5 in the NBA.

Bucks will find some ring chasers - Jeff Teague, Justin Holiday, RoLo

We were a 70 win paced team last year before the shutdown.

Our biggest flaw was a secondary ball handler and literally anyone that can create other than Middleton.

In the playoffs, teams were throwing 4 guys at Giannis and it killed our offense.

We just added two guys that are both better shooters (in terms of volume) and kept our defense in tact. As part of this, we move from asking Khris Middleton from being a #2 option to a number three. And we ask Brook from going to being a #3 option to a #5 option on offense. All while adding shooting and not giving up much on the defensive end.

Factor in these moves were very likely the deals that would get Giannis to sign extension, and that two other teams were ready to pony up 3 first round picks (and I agree the market value was nuts, but still the market value) and I am thrilled with the moves so far, albeit sucks to have to give up so much. This team is much, much better IMO.

Stepien says hold my beer. They made the rule of not trading consecutive picks cause of that guy for a reason.
