How are we getting Lavine without picks and why would Houston want Lavine?

And impossible. Please show your work. What specifically do you think Washington is taking for Beal that’s not Ben or Joel that won’t easily be beat by Boston, denver, Atlanta, the nets.
Wait. What? Why would he reluctantly put Simmons on the table after convincing the Rockets that he is going in a different direction?eagereyez wrote:Lavine and Beal are smoke and mirrors. In negotiations, you have to have a backup plan, otherwise the opposing side will rob you blind. Morey has to make the Rockets believe he is 100% set on another move. Once he accomplishes that, he can "reluctantly" put Simmons on the table for Harden. And the Rockets will suddenly believe they got a steal. Don't be fooled - Morey knows as well as anyone that you need MVP caliber players to win a chip. And that ain't Lavine, Beal, or Simmons.

If anything, convincing the Rockets of that would be a move to make them up the ante and put Harden on the table for less than they previously asked for. Which may also include Simmons.
But at least then Morey can say "thank you for coming down on your price, I accept."
If Morey wants Harden, and is okay trading Simmons, we wouldn't be seeing any of these reports as it would be a done deal.
I don't think Morey wants Harden bad enough to include Simmons. So any posturing being done at this point is to A) legit try to make another move or B) get Houston to offer Harden without Simmons being involved.
